Chapter 8- Best Friends

Peeta

The alarm clock went off,scaring the hell out of Cato and me. When I finally managed to turn it off we both started laughing.

  "I guess thats one way to say good morning." I laughed.

  Cato replied, "It sure is, beautiful" and then he kissed me again.

  "Cato," I said when we finally let go, " you have no idea how much I appreciate you being here last night for me. I really want to be your boyfriend too. We just have to stick together."

  "Yes baby I know." was all he said as he went to take a shower. He had a look on his face that showed that any moment without me was torture. I had to agree as well.

  Sudddenly the phone rang. It was Johanna.

   "Peeta Mellark, unlock this damn bakery door right now. I want my raspberry muffins right now." she yelled as she hung up.

  I managed to get a pair of jeans on and a blue t shirt on before I went downstairs. I saw Johanna and she mouthed. "We need to talk"

  I unlocked the bakery door and she said. "Sorry if I scared you. I just said that so no one would know why I was here. Ya got any muffins by the way?"

  "Yeah hang on." I said as I got her a plate of chocolate chip ones.

   "Oh my God yes!!" she exclaimed as she began eating them. By the way your secret is safe with me. I know who's upstairs. Oh and Katniss is bringing some of her fried chicken over. That woman and her meat..." she chuckled as she ate.

  Prettt soon that very girl popped in the bakery with a box of chicken and demanded an order of biscuits later on.

  "Because we are coming back by for dinner." she said as she finally sat down. She also took one of Johanna's muffins.

  "Bitch" she said.

I busted out laughing. You could tell these two were my best friends.

Cato

I got out of the shower and dried off. I heard laughing going on downstairs so I decided to get dressed and go down there and join Peeta.

  The phone rang. It was Clove.

'Oh shit' I thought.

   " Cato I gotta talk to you." she said.

  "Clove, if this is about how much you hate Peeta, I really don't wanna hear it."

"No Cato, thats the point why I'm calling you. I don't hate Peeta anymore. I've been doing a lot of thinking and honestly if you like him, I like him too. Cato, you are my best friend in the whole world and I just wanna say that it doesn't matter to me if you're gay or bi or whatever. You are my best friend and I'm gonna stand by you. If you and Peeta are happy so am I."

  "Thanks Clove. Im glad you think that now."

  "I met Katniss on her way home yesterday  and I apologised to her about how I've treated her like shit and everything. She forgave me and now I'm gonna   be her friend now."

"I am so proud of you Clove. Im sure it took a lot for you to tell me this." I beamed

  "It did. Oh and by the way Katniss is throwing a welcome to the neighborhood party for Peeta tonight. Can you take Peeta somewhere like shopping, out to eat, getting laid in a hotel room, something? Until 5?"

   "Yea sure thing. I'll see you at the party I guess." I said.

    "Yep see ya then bruh" she said as we hung up.

   I was so happy I forgot I was getting dressed and ran downstairs....in my underwear.

   Peeta blushed blood-red, Katniss gasped, and Johanna said, "Ooh la la, Cato, Peeta didnt tell me he had a hottie for a boyfriend."

  "Johanna!" Katniss said giggling.

"I'm serious though girl....i mean look at him."

   "Guys this is so not what it looks like. Peeta, go get ready. I'm taking you on a date."

   "Yep thats how it always is. A date and then the ride of Peeta's life" Johanna said so casually.

   Katniss spit out a spray of hot tea and we all busted out laughing. I could see why Peeta hung around them. They were't half bad after all.
