Chapter 11- Welcome Home

Cato

It was dark inside the bakery when we finally got back from Ashbury. We had laughed and caried on and enjoyed ourselves for a first date.
  "Baby I have a surprise for you."
I said as I pulled him out of the car when we pulled in.
   "Oh, Cato, how many more surprises do you have up your sleeve?" Peeta asked.
   "Just you wait, baby boy" I said as I opened the door.
  The lights went on and "WELCOME HOME, PEETA!!!!" rang out in the bakery....

If I could have a heart atrack moment, it was at the moment when I saw all of our friends in the bakery gathered around a large cake covered in icing and cute, kitschy designs.
  "This is how we say welcome in Plum Creek" Johanna said as she hugged Peeta.
"Welcome home, Peeta." Katniss hugged me.
  I started to silently cry as I held Cato's hand. I felt like I was finally home and that I finally had friends to call my own. If only Mom and Dad could see this....

The Party

"I want another cola Clove. Go get me one..." Cato shouted.
  "Bite me" Clove laughed as she headed to the kitchen.
  "So, having fun much?" Peeta asked, his arms around Cato.
  "Hey, it's your party! The question is are YOU having fun?"
Cato asked, moving closer to Peeta's neck.
  "Any day I am with you I am having fun..." Peeta laughed as they kissed each other.
  Clove came back to the table with two Cokes with Johanna and said,"The bar is closed, people. You gotta fend for yourselves now."
Cato flipped her off as she walked off arm in arm with Johanna...and Clove smacked her own ass as a reply.
Madge and Gale were laughing and cutting up and carrying on. Pretty much everybody was, except for one table....
Katniss and Cashmere were at their table taking sips of sangria and looking at each other.
  "I just want you to know how special you really are to me." Cashmere said.
  "It's not a question of that. It's the fact that we got caught. The minute I saw the flash go off, I knew we were dead. I still have nightmares about that, Cashmere."
  "I do too" Cashmere answered, "but we gotta let that go."
    "I know, but it still bothers me. No matter what we do, its gonna hurt. It's not gonna go away."
  "Well, you know he only did it because he wanted you and then he slept with Cato's boyfriend. So it hurt all of us..."
  "I tolerate him, but I cannot wait for the day I can bring Finnick Odair to justice...I know I cannot forgive him...I cannot."
