Chapter 9 -First Date

Peeta

I was still laughing about the events from this morning. Katniss and Johanna had shooed us both out of the bakery and we got into Cato's blue Lexus. It smelled so good with that new car smell and his cologne.

We got on the highway and I noticed that instead of driving to Silver Lake or Plum Creek we were going to Ashbury, a city to the south.

"Whats in Ashbury?" I asked.

"You'll see baby." was all he said as he grabbed the steering wheel with one hand and my hand with the other.

Cato

I decided to take Peeta to Ashbury for the day. He needed to get out of Plum Creek for the day. Besides it was Saturday and he needed to get out of the house, especially with all the shit going on with his dad.
Ashbury was a favorite for many of the rich kids at school because it had a lot of the ritzy stores in its many malls. I decided to take him to Rivergate Mall, mainly because it was the closest and I was gonna give Peeta a makeover.
We eventually got there and when he got out of the car I saw him look at the massive entrance to the mall.
"Holy shit." he whispered.
"Time for you to go shopping." I laughed as I put my arm around his neck and we went inside

MEANWHILE.....

The Bakery

"Katniss, we're out of soda. Now what are they gonna drink?"
"The garden hose I guess" Katniss yelled from the back.
The bell tinkled as she yelled but the girls didnt hear it.
"I guess Im gonna have to go to the store...again" Johanna grouched.
"No need to" said a small teenage girl with black hair and freckles. She was carrying bags of soda pop.
"And who are you?" Johanna asked in suprise.
"I'm Clove Middleton. I'm Cato's best friend." she said as she set the bags down.
"Wait, arent you the one that talked shit about Katniss last year?" Johanna asked.
"Uh, no, who the fuck told you that?"
"Marvel did." Johanna shot back.
Katniss thankfully appeared and said " Hi, Clove, I see you met Johanna."
"Yep." was all Clove said as they shook hands. Clove and Johanna really seemed to think alike
"Hi guys! Im so glad you guys invited me." Cashmere said as she walked in carrying a box of her delicious cookies. Cashmere was an exceptional cook as well as an exceptional beauty. And Katniss remembered the last time Cashmere had come over with a box of them...
Clove started putting the sodas in the refrigerator when Madge walked in with the presents they had all bought or made and had left with her so they wouldnt be forgotten. Madge had a really good memory and so she was entrusted with Peetas gifts.
Gale came over with the party games and he almost smacked Johanna with the Monopoly box but thankfully she moved out of the way before that happened.
Finally the last guest appeared and it was one of Cashmere's friends from the YMCA. Her name was Rue and she brought the cutest present....two little fluffy kittens!
While Rue took the kittenns upstairs, Johanna got everyone's attention and they all listened up.
"Okay people, it is one o'clock sharp. Get crackin'".....

Cato

As we walked through the mall I noticed everyone was staring at us like we were the hot new married couple or something. Maybe it was Peeta in his new Ray-bans and me in my Versace....oh well our lives (and love) were so bright we needed shades!
Peeta looked so handsome in his new H&M jeans and Nike shirt that had "Dream Big" written on it. My dreams were pretty big at the moment. And it was to spend every single day I could with Peeta....forever.
