In the morning, I was returned to my bookstore with the help of Howl.

"I can't thank you enough, Howl."

"No need. I'll just see you tonight, alright?"

"Oh yeah, sure. See you then."

"That's my girl."

He walked back into the crowd and I went upstairs. Today was one of my days off. It was peaceful when I made it upstairs. Kenny was there to happily greet me. Jeff and Marcus were sacked out on the couch, naked. I placed a blanket over them and opened the blinds to see the city. I headed into my room to change quickly. Walking back out, Jeff and Marcus were up.

"What time is it?" Jeff asked.

"8:45."

"8:45?!" Marcus yelled.

They threw off the blanket and ran into their shared room. I started to make myself breakfast when they ran out in their uniforms.

"See you tonight, sis," Jeff said.

"Hey before you go!"

They stopped right out in the doorway, staring back at me.

"I want you two to cool it with that, you know."

"Sure thing!" Marcus said.

They raced out the door and Kenny came up to me, begging for some bacon.

"They don't listen."

I chopped off a piece and gave it to Kenny.

"At least you don't have to worry about that."

All day I sat around, reading some books, watching movies, and other stuff on my day off. Working filled my life with some fun, and not working was a completely boring day. At least I had tonight to look forward to. When noon rolled around, I decided to have lunch with Marcus and Jeff.

"Hey, Jeff!"

"Hi, Y/N! Marcus, lunch break! Let's close down the market."

We walked along the streets, I was on the left side of Jeff. Marcus and Jeff were holding hands, though holding their heads high. Some weird and mean glances were thrown our way, but Jeff and Marcus seemed to deflect them, like there was a shield around them. We made it to the small resturant and sat down.

I was wearing a pretty simple dress tonight. Howl was going to be picking me up from the bookstore door. Marcus and Jeff were watching a movie while I was getting ready. Kenny was lying on my bed, not wanting me to leave him.

"It won't be long, Kenny. At least I hope not."

I sat down and his head found its way to my lap. Stroking his head, I hadn't noticed I started talking to him.

"Howl seems so nice and caring. He's kinda cute. Do I like him?"

Kenny gave a bark and I smiled. I got up and headed down to the bookstore.

"Where you going, Y/N?" Jeff called.

"Got a date. See you soon!"

I made my way to the door and saw Howl was walking around the store.

"It's fun to come in here when no one else is in here."

"Howl, I didn't see you there."

"Quite alright. Shall we go, dear?"

"Yes."

His arm was raised in an obtuse angle, towards his body. I wrapped my arm around his and we walked outside and headed back towards the waste.
