"There you are, Master Howl!" Markl said as the door opened up.

I turned to see Markl and Lucy were waiting for us.

"Oh, you must be Y/N. So nice to meet you, Y/N!" Markl smiled at me.

"Nice to meet you, Markl," I said.

"We shouldn't keep them waiting," Howl chuckled. "I heard Markl had something good for dinner tonight."

"He's going to be making dinner tonight?"

"Yes he is. I am curious on what he has to offer."

"Let's not keep them waiting," I said and we walked towards the door.

He opened it up for me and I walked through and was met back with the small quaint room. Markl was working at the sink and walked over to where Calcifer was.

"You know I am only letting you do this because we have company, right?" Calcifer asked.

"I know, but there will be a day where Master Howl will show me how to get you under control," Markl said.

"But that day is not today," Calcifer said.

"One day," Markl said with determination.

"Have a seat, Y/N. I should help Markl," Howl said and walked over to where Markl was.

"So you're Lucy," I smiled at Lucy.

"Yeah, I am. Nice to meet you," Lucy smiled.

"I'm Y/N," I said. "How did you and Markl meet?"

"We met outside a coffee shop. I was carrying some things to take back to my house and we accidentally bumped into one another. He helped me gather my things I had dropped and even offered to help carry it back to my house. We talked while we were on the way there and I guess we just kind of hit it off," Lucy smiled.

"Sounds nice," I said.

"Yeah."

"How long have you two know one another?"

"About two months. We didn't start dating until last week."

"Oh I see."

"How did you meet Howl?"

"He came into my bookstore and asked for a few spell books."

"Oh I've seen your bookstore before! I always wanted to go in, but I can never really go because I need to get stuff for my mom and dad."

"I'll be more than happy to let you walk around the store before and after hours," I smiled.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Just don't let anyone know," I chuckled.

"Your secret is safe with me," Lucy smiled.

I smiled and Markl and Howl came over and set a plate on the table.

"This smells amazing," Lucy said to Markl.

"Thanks," Markl said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Alright, time to dig in everyone!" Howl said and started to pass the food around.

That night we talked and shared memories with one another. Seemed like Markl and Howl have been through quite a lot with Howl teaching Markl how to use magic. Once dinner was finished, I helped Howl clean up while Markl and Lucy headed out into the waste. It seemed like Markl wanted to impress her with the magic he has learned. I was watching from the window, enjoying how they seemed happy with one another.

"They're really something, aren't they?" Howl smiled.

"Yeah. Yeah they are."

"It's getting pretty late. I should be heading back."

"Let me walk you back. It's the least I can do for not escorting you here."

"Thank you, Howl, but I think I should be ok."

"You do know that the Witch of the Waste is roaming about, right?"

"I have heard of her, but I haven't seen her."

"I just worry about your safety."

"Thank you, Howl, but I am a big girl now," I smiled at him. "I can handle myself."

"I don't doubt that for a second, but please. It would make me feel better that you got back there safely."

"Alright."

We walked out of the door and Markl was still with Lucy.

"Markl, I'm heading back into town to walk Y/N back."

"Alright! It was nice meeting you, Y/N!" Markl said.

"Nice meeting you as well!" I said and we walked back into town.

We reached the small bookstore and I grabbed my keys.

"There you are," Howl said when I opened the door.

"Thank you again, Howl. I had a wonderful night."

"I am glad you did. Please, don't hesitate to get into contact with me if you ever want to do it again," he said.

"I would like to do it again."

"Alright," Howl smiled.

"Goodnight, Howl," I said.

"Goodnight, Y/N," he said.

I walked inside and closed the door behind me. I clicked the lock and headed upstairs.

"Are you sure that's her?"

"Yes. That was the girl he saved the other day."

"I see."

"What are we going to do?"

"Lure her out of there somehow. It seems she cares about Howl and Howl cares about her."

"What if we do it the other way around?"

"What do you mean?"

"Lure him out by capturing her."

"I see."

"Then you put her life on the line and he will do your bidding."

"I like the way you think! Now the only question is how are we going to get her?"

"I've seen her morning routine everyday. She goes out to get her morning cup of coffee or tea and then she returns to open up the bookstore."

"What time does she leave?"

"Pretty early."

"Well, we strike then. Just make sure there is no one there to witness her capture."

"Oh please, I learned a spell how to make one look as if they weren't there!"

"I wish you luck then."

"You're not going to help?"

"No. I need to get ready to pass the message on to Howl."

"Alright then. Guess I get to have all the fun for myself."

"I am counting on you to lure her out. If you're unable to, I won't hesitate to get rid of you."

"I know you won't. That is why I don't plan on letting you down."

"Good. Remember, we just need to lure him out. You cannot kill her."

"Even if I wanted to, I can't. She does have some nice looks to her."

"If the plan fails, just steal her looks."

"Roger that."
