Chapter 39- Answers

Eddie: Loren Tate, will you marry me?

Loren couldn't believe it. Eddie had just asked her to marry her. She was freaking out inside. This is all she's ever wanted, and yet, she felt like she didn't know what to say.

Loren: Eddie, um, I, uh, this is all such a surprise.

Eddie: I love you Loren. We are soulmates. I want to spend the rest of my life with you

She felt horrible. She wanted to just tell "yes!" But she couldn't. After all that they've been through, getting back together, breaking up, it's just a never ending circle. She wanted to wait until the finish line. She wanted to wait until she was certain. She loved Eddie, but was he really the one?

Loren: Eddie, I love you too. So much

Eddie: So, is that a yes?

Loren: I, uh, I'm sorry. I can't.

Loren took her hand out of Eddie's and she ran off the stage. As soon as she got offstage, she started to cry, softly, so that no one would hear her. Eddie was so heartbroken. Everyone was videotaping it. It was supposed to be a wonderful, heartfelt, and perfect. But she had just said no. Eddie put the ring back into his pocket and he got up and spoke into the mic

Eddie: *sounding embarrassed* I would just like to thank all of you for coming out here tonight, and the album will be released very shortly. Bye guys!

Eddie walked off the stage, opposite the way that Loren did, and walked off with a smile. But as soon as he was sure that no one would see him, he broke down into tears. He just couldn't believe that she had said no. He couldn't get it through his mind. They had always talked about what they would do together. They would get married, get a house, have a family, and grow old together. How were they supposed to do any of that without getting married? Eddie thought that was the first step. He wiped his tears and went to go find Loren. He looked through all of backstage but he couldn't find her. He walked out into the crowd and up to the only other place she could've gone in such a short amount of time: Max's old apartment. Eddie walked up to Max's old apartment and knocked on the door, but no one answered. He turned the knob to see if it was open, and it was. He walked inside to see the place just as Nora and Max had left it. It was like nothing had changed. He looked all over the apartment, but he couldn't see her. Finally, he looked on the terrace, and saw Loren sitting on a chair outside, crying. Eddie started to cry again, but he toughened up and held them in. He walked out onto the terrace and started to speak
