Chapter 12- Good News, Bad News

Back at Eddie's place, Eddie called his father. The phone rang for a good minute until Max picked up the phone.

On The Phone:

Max: Hello?

Eddie: Hey, Dad! What's up? Why did you call me?

Max: Before I tell you, I need to ask you a question.

Eddie: Sure pops, what's up?

Max: Why was Chloe at your apartment earlier today?

Eddie: Um, how do you know about that Dad?

Max: She answered the phone while you were in the bedroom. Well, that's what she said. *sighs* Why was she there Eddie?

Eddie: Dad, Its nothing ok? She was just here to harass me like she always does.

Max: Eddie, answer me this. Did you sleep with her?

Eddie: Dad, why would I do something that stupid!?

Max: Because I know when you do something that you feel guilty about. I'm a parent, I can feel it. Eddie, just tell me, did you sleep with her? And I want the truth this time.

Eddie: Dad, for the last time I didn't sleep with her.

Max: Eddie, I'm trusting you. So this better be the truth, ok? I really hope that your not lying to me. What I have to tell you is really important, so I hope that this isn't a lie.

Eddie: It isn't pops, just tell me what's up.

Max: *You could hear the excitement in Max's voice* Well, I am happy to tell you that we have good news, but also bad news. So, which do you want first?

Eddie: I could really use some good news right about now.

Max: Ok, well *Max paused in his sentence. The next words he was about to say were gonna change the rest of Eddie's bad thoughts in his mind, back to being hopeful again.* We found Loren! She is safe, and we are with her right now.

Eddie: *starts crying tears of joy* Oh my god pops! That's amazing! Oh my god, where did you find her? How did you find her? Is she ok? Is she hurt?

Max: Ok, Ok, Eddie you gotta give me a little time, I'm happy too, but you can't just give me all these questions at once. Ok, so we didn't really find her.

Eddie: What do you mean?

Max: Someone, brought us to her.

Eddie: Well, who? Give me their name so that I can reward them.

Max: Eddie, this Is where the bad news comes in. Loren's in the hospital. The hospital called us.

Eddie: What!? The hospital? Why is she there?

Max: She had to get stitches. Her emergency contact was her mom, so they called Nora and said that Loren was here.

Eddie: Ok, so, how did that happen? Why did she need to get stitches.

Max: The police think that her kidnapper hit her with something, and then brought her here. They just brought her here, but no one checked her in or anything, she checked herself in. She is asleep right now, they gave her some mess because she was freaking out I think she was scared. You weren't here with her so she had a very big meltdown about that.
