The others meet up with us. Before anyone could say anything, "come on. Let's keep moving." Chief said. We each agree and move to the other side of the field. There was another passage, expected it was larger than the one were in.
I could feel the others were slightly more relaxed around me. I'm guessing because of what I did for Fred. I'm surprised they're risking their lives for this. I am graceful for them helping me, but I don't even know why. It's only one person. The explanation would be because he killed one of their own. That would make sense. If someone killed one of my own, I'd go after them.
I could hear explosions and gunshots in the distance. It was hard to tell what direction they were in. There were some that seemed closer than others. I kept my eyes open just in case another sniper came upon us. And I just hoped we didn't have to deal with another scarab. Those are annoying if you ask me.
Where are we going anyway? "There's a station near a cliff. That's were were going." Fred slowed down to talk to me. How did he...? "You were mumbling to yourself." He said.
"Oh." I say. Well that's awkward. "Sorry." I mumble.
He shakes his head. "It's fine." He pauses. "Who did he take from you?" He asks.
I glance at him. "My brother...my younger brother." I answer.
He nods. "I see. So you feel it's your job to protect him?" He asks, but it seems for like a statement.
"Bingo." I reply. "He's my young brother, so it is my job to protect him."
He nods, not pushing he subject. "What are you going to do once you get him back?" He wonders.
I inhale a large amount of air. "I'm going to bring him home." I state.
He glances at me. "How are you going to do that? Is doesn't seem like there anywhere to go and if this was your home then this is a war zone." He doesn't understand nearly as much as I do.
I mentally laugh. "Like I said before, I can glitch through dimensions. Meaning I can bring him back to my dimension." I try to explain.
"That's seems simple." He acts like he understands.
I nod. "It sorta is to some extent."
He looks at me. "What about the other people?" I frown, even though he can't see it. "The people who also appeared here." He further says.
"Oh." I pause. Crap. "To be honest...I never thought about them. The first dimension I went to, mostly everyone was killed." I awkwardly laugh. "Well now I feel like an selfish idiot."
"Well?"
I sigh. "I don't know. My energy isn't doing well and that's a lot of people. I'll have to try." I pause. "And if I can't, I'll just have to go back and forth until everyone's back in my dimension."
"That sounds pretty logical." He replies, but doesn't continue the conversation. Causing us to fall into a slightly awkward silence.
A scream rips through the silence like a knife through paper. I know that scream. "Charlie." I remember how he would scream at the haunted houses on Halloween.
I immediately ran in the direction of he scream. "Come on kid, lets go!" A man yelled. I knew that murderous voice. Matt.
I was stopped by a large rock in the middle of canyon. It was too big to move or go around. My adrenaline had kicked in, getting me more energy. I smirk and used that to my advantage. I pressed a hand on the rock, causing it to melt into pixels at my touch. I kept running, never stopping, never tiring.
The canyon took a sharp turn. The right side ended short revealing a deep trench, which you could not see the bottom. This might be the cliff Fred was talking about. Well I'll just have to make sure not to fall.
I continued on my way. The canyon opened up to a larger area, which the deep trench was still on the right side. There was that terrible man who was hold my brother by his arm. "Look who showed up." Matt said with a devilish grin.
Rage boiled my blood. Adrenaline fed me more energy. I could have ripped him apart. The only thing stopping me...Charlie. "Give. Him. To. Me." I snarled.
Matt's grin only grew. "It's not that easy child." I heard footsteps behind me. I know it's Blue Team. "You have what I want, so give it up." His grin never faded from his face. He knew something I didn't, but I couldn't figure it out.
I swallowed hard. Could I give it to him? What would he do? He could hurt so many people! But I can't risk Charlie! I came here to save Charlie! But I can't get him back home without it! I wanted to scream. I didn't know what to do. And no one was here to help.
Suddenly the ground beneath Blue Team and I fell into a free fall. My body somehow turned upside down and I heading down head first. The bottom came quicker than I expected. My head took much of the hit, causing me to blackout before I could even think about it.
