"oh i'm a survivor. my whole life has been surviving."
survivor's anthem
cloth slipped, my soul was showing
the faces around me were laughing and roaring.
but this was a war which i had to win
if only i had the strength to begin.
my walls were broken down by stones
and left me standing on my own.
a desperate hand gave me luck
as thunder blazed and lightning struck.
crazed eyes followed my every move
and I lay barren, without love.
but only those who stood strong and free
lit my path and made me believe
for does lady luck ever give in
unless we are haunted by sin?
ghouls of the past and witches of the present
and trolls of the future are ever present
biding their time and hatching their plots,
leaving us to wither and rot.
but i am a survivor and i will not bow
to these demons of then and now.
i shall stand free and tall
and place all my faith in my god.
and as the peace will envelop me
a final, satisfied sigh I shall heave
for i have fought to be free.
