"the truth will set you free."
the truth
i did not know
when i fell asleep
that i would visit
the oceans deep
or hear a lone voice sing
of castles, princes and kings
nearer to the voice i would go
wishing to hear more
of this song for it was meant to be
a youthful, happy melody
but the voice that sang
held nothing but pain,
through the depths it rang
singing it's tale.
closer i crept
and the voice, it wept
still singing of happy times
and how it was happy no more.
this was a tale that
i had heard before
i sat on the rock
and wept
as i realized the truth
the voice that sang, the words that rang
were nothing but my youth
of times when i was a princess
in a castle with my king,
of those times the voice would sing
it was happy no more
for my youth, it was lost
but in my dreams i found it
on seeing me
it was freed,
it wiped it's tears and bounded
right into my arms.
