"you can see how fake it all is, it's a paper town...look at it"
new town
i woke up in the new town today
it was too cold for me to love
this change had left me unsteady
gaining nothing but losing much.
i always feared moving on
from home, from lost love,
from familiar faces, true friends,
from family, from my first love.
if this is what they call growing up
i don't care much for it.
i'd rather stay at home, stay with love,
i don't think i want to grow up.
you know what they say in this new town
you always have to be right
and if you're wrong, don't let it show
always put up a fight
they say this is a town of fighters
but all it is,
is a town of defeated soldiers
waging a losing war against their own life
they don't believe in god, no
he has never been proved, they say
if he were there, and he isn't
why would they have to fight for their way
and thus they live.
i woke up in the illusion of truth
where worries overrode youth
this change has left me unsteady,
i don't think i'll ever be quite ready.
