I finished the doodle from last night *w*
I've been playing around with my style quite a lot recently, and today I tried my hand at a new method for shading. For this drawing, I drew the shading in one solid color on a different layer at a lower opacity, then merged it with the lineart and then did the full color on the layer the shading was originally on.
If this method sounds really complicated, it's because the program I use only has three layers- a foreground, a midground, and a background layer.
I've gotten used to the limited layers by now, but I would like to get my hands on a better program someday (maybe something like Photoshop CS6), along with a computer that can actually handle digital art. Every piece of non-traditional art in this book was done on an iPad Mini using the DrawCast program, drawn completely with my index finger (stylus? I hardly know her), and I'd really like to upgrade to using a computer someday so I can have more creative freedom.
I've already got a tablet though, which is nice. It's a Wacom Intuous Pro. BUT I CANT USE IT BECAUSE NO COMPUTER IN MY HOUSE HAS THE NECESSARY CONDITIONS TO INSTALL IT! (cries)
But as my birthday slowly approaches, my hopes of upgrading are getting higher and higher!
Sorry if I went off on a bit of a tangent there! *~* Thanks for stopping by!
