some practice w/character design

Yesterday, I made a large doodle consisting of multiple body types in order to practice with diverse body shapes.

Tall, short, curves, no curves, no problem. I ended up using these little bases to practice with hairstyles as well- long and short, down and up. I was about to call it quits there and just watch Dan and Phil play Sims 4 for the rest of the evening...

But I eventually decided to take it a step further.

What if each one of these practice bodies became their own character?

And, after a long marathon of the aforementioned Dan and Phil Sims 4 series, they did.

I tried to convey a certain feel with each of these characters, mainly through things such as dress and body language. Here I'll try to briefly describe what I was going for with each of them...
(From left to right)

Lake: Fairly small and featureless body type, sassy body language, tomboyish dress sense.
Lake is meant to be a cheerful and energetic girl, who enjoys being active and exploring.

Maire: Shorter with a curvy pear-shaped body type, more casual body language, sweeter dress sense.
Maire is a sweet girl whose main hobbies consist of baking and spending time with her friends.

Amity: Very tall and slim body type, shyer body language, elegant dress sense.
Amity is the mom friend- shy and dainty, but good at keeping things in check.

Jule: Fairly curvy body type, slightly wasp-waisted, more expressive body language, looser dress sense.
Jule is carefree, and prefers to drift through life and avoid the bumps in the road.

Csilla: Very small body type, alert body language, more elaborate dress sense (I was going for a magical girl sort of look).
Csilla is a mysterious child who lives among the stars, curious and wary of the world below.

expect a lot of random doodles of these characters! I really like them and want to develop their stories more ^^;;
