Chapter 5 || Jean

Armin's grandfather was sent to the Scouts to fight titans, eventually he died, which resulted to Armin crying for days, weeks, even months. You noticed how you didn't really cry when your mother died, though Armin's only family left was his grandfather. You all spent days comforting him, until his eyes were too dry to even cry anymore. Today was the day when Armin was over with crying, what he did. He stood up, and said with his most bravest, mightiest voice, "We're joining the Scouts."

"Jean-Boy, you can't just leave now.. you might di-" Jean's mother said, as she would stopped in the middle of her words. "I don't give a single shit if I die, I'm joining the military police. Goodbye" Jean said with his bag as he closed went outside, he shut the door closed, then started walking. He looked down on the floor, thinking about his choices, and his past. Still wondering if (f/n) was alive after the Titans invaded Shiganshina district. If only she stayed safe here.. Jean thought putting his finger to his forehead.

You all walked through the grass fields, carrying your heavy bags, you were on the verge of falling. Yet, Mikasa caught you and started carrying your bag. Something popped up in your mind, it was that promise you made with Jean about joining the Military Police. At one point you thought you would see him there, but at another point you thought you were pretty dumb, because that would be a huge coincidence really. Maybe he might come, but he probably forgot about me. You thought in your head.

"This is it." Mikasa said putting on her uniform, you went along with her and started putting on your uniform. "It feels kind of tight" You told Mikasa as she wrinkled her nose. She took a soft grip on your shoulder then smiled at you, you flinched as she said "I know this is unusual. But I promise, I will protect you, Eren, and Armin" You nodded in a confused state. You playfully patted Mikasa's head as she flinched, only to accidentally elbow you in the stomach. You grimaced in pain while she laughed and said "Sorry."

Walking to the field, you saw the sargent. He was scolding people for doing basically nothing, he walked up to a half-bald man and grabbed him by his head, you flinched as you saw him walk up to a boy with golden brown eyes. Your eyes widened as you saw it, it's him.. you thought as Armin nudged your shoulder and asked if you were ok. "A-Armin.." you whispered as he stared at you, "t-thats my best friend.. from Trost" Armin's eyes widened with you as tears started to form.

The Sargent walked up to Jean and kicked him on his knee, he fell and grimaced in pain, you wanted to beat up that Sargent, you gave him the evil eyes, but he then suddenly caught your gaze and walked up to you. "AND WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT CADET?" You flinched once more and caught eyes with Jean, his mouth slightly opened as he looked at you, you looked back at the Sargent and said, "well. I don't think you should be beating people up for no reason, SARGENT"

He narrowed his sunk-in eyes at you and said, "Aren't you a smartass?" he then punched you in thhe stomach, causing an explosion of pain. Making you fall, "WHATS YOUR NAME CADET!" You slowly smirked as you looked at him, making him cringe, "(f/n) (l/n). I'm from Shiganshina district" He walked away furrowing his eyebrows, just to scold the next person. Mikasa clenched her fists at the same time she was looking at the Sargent, she helped pull you up as you caught gaze with Jean again.

He mouthed the words 'Tell me later' you nodded at him and looked back at Mikasa, pulling away from her so you could stand up on your own. Eren furrowed his eyebrows at you, then he said "Were you trying to prove something?" You smiled at him and said "Kind of. I just wanted him to know im not a pussy" Eren nodded and went back to looking at the ground. It ended with the Sargent scolding a girl for eating a steamed potato in the middle of his rant thing that no one really knew what to call. She ran laps until Dinner.

You spotted Eren being questioned for seeing Titans, but you decided to sit on a table alone, so no attention would be brought to you. You caught your gaze with Jean again, he walked over to your table and sat down. You felt an awkward vibe, "(f-(f/n)?" He was with teary eyes. "Yes. Jean." You said slightly smiling. "You're not dead.. it's been forever.. we were 10 the last time we saw each other.. all of a sudden we're 15.." He said as you hugged him, causing both of you to blush, you started crying as you said "I missed you"

Jean smirked and said "So you weren't lying about joining the MP, kuh?" You hugged him tighter and said "I wouldn't lie. By the way, you grew a lot" He slightly pushed away and smiled at you. He played with his spoon and said "So, about Shiganshina District. Did your parents survive" Your eyes widened as he said that, having flashbacks of your mom being eaten alive, and your dad leaving you. "No." You said with more tears flowing down your face. "O-Oh.. so (n/n). Whos your new friends"

You smiled as you said "Well one of them can actually protect themselfs-" being cut off by Eren, he furrowed his eyebrows and said "Hey horseface. If you're trying to flirt with (f/n), I suggest you back off" Jean cringed as he stood up and smirked at Eren, facing him. Jean looked back at you as he smiled, you then gave him a smirk. He looked back at Eren, "Don't call me horseface blockhead, and just to let you know, I knew her before you" Jean said with a threatening face. "Oh, so you're Jean from Trost kuh?"

Eren said twisting his head at him, Jean was about to punch him when they heard a bell. He stopped and shook his hand and sat back next to you. Eren wrinkled his nose and walked back to Mikasa's table, you and Jean chatted about life for a long while. "Thats how Titan's look like? Doesn't seem very 'scary' to me" Jean said with a courageous voice. "Well, just wait until you see them in person Jean boy" He smiled, though it was lights out. "Bye Jean" you said with a big smile plastered on your face.

Walking to the girls place, you spotted Mikasa. Who greeted you with a smirk on her face, "so that was 'Jean' kuh?" You blushed and said "Yes", finally having a night without worrying if Jean is okay.

hihihihihihuhuihiiihyuiiuu ~ so last story didn't get any reads.. but yeAhhh.. as i told you my story sucks, but the problem is, i like to write because it's fun. and i really dont care about not having as many reads as other people, because if you do it for fame, whats the point of forcing yourself to write? like, i accept if people would want some dedication but c'mon writing just for fame? kind of messed up dude xD. well, baiii ~
