Chapter 26 || Crushing

Lots of people died since the last expedition. More than the other actually, Jean, Sasha, Ymir, Connie, Reiner, and Bertholdt were waiting in a room, you had no memory of what happened last time with Reiner and Bertholdt. Sasha and Connie were ranting about how bored they were while Bertholdt and Reiner were playing checkers. Jean held you in his arms while sighing uncontrollably.

"Okay we get it you're bored." You tell Jean as he sighs once more. You roll your eyes as he giggles and pulls you closer.

Reiner blushes in jealously and stops paying attention to the game, Bertholdt shoves him so he would notice that it was his turn. "I heard Annie was the female titan." Ymir says, plotting herself down next to Reiner. "Cool, when are we gonna do something other than this again?" Connie mentions digging his face into his arms. Sasha lays on his shoulder as Ymir shrugs. "Guys.. I hear stomping" Sasha says with wide eyes, Reiner rolls his eyes and looks over at her. "What a good liar, hey (f/n). Turn into a titan and eat her for her lying please." You roll your eyes and laugh.

Plotting yourself down next to Reiner, he smirks at Jean as he snarls. "I would. But I'm not in the mood to destroy this building."

You add as Nanaba comes in, "Get onto your horses, don't ask we'll explain later." Everyone nods as they run outside and jump on there horses. You all then go out in the fields as Mike mentions something about titans coming in. "What? Theres no way wall rose could be broken already!" Jean says wrinkling his nose, Bertholdt rubs his head and shrugs. You sigh and continue to go around while Nanaba explains the formation, everyone nods as you go left with Connie, Reiner, and Bertholdt while some people go to the middle, and others go to the left. You were planning on going to Connie's village, he was going fast. To fast.

Reiner goes faster, "Oi! Stop!" He yells as Connie continues to ignore him. His eyes are wide with excitement, Reiner grumbles while you continue to ride slowly with Bertholdt. "Why is he so excited?" You tell him, he looks over at you and shrugs. "Probably because he wants to see his parents again, or something else. I really don't know."

You nod as Connie finally reaches his village. You follow him and see the destruction, he runs over to his house as you and Reiner follow him. His eyes widen as he sees a titan on top of his house, "N..No" He says, stuttering. He starts to finally cry, you grab him and hug him as Reiner holds his shoulder.

"We're gonna start leaving." A Survey Corps member says, getting on their horses. You wait for Connie as you both get on your horses at the same time, you both suddenly hear something. "W..Wel..come home" You both turn your heads around and see the titan mumbling words. Your eyes widen but you suddenly jump as you feel something smack your shoulders, "Lets go! We have no damn time to waste." You both nod and continue to go, taking out your torches.

You were walking through the forest at night, everyone was sweating and shaking in fear. You weren't, only because you knew titans aren't active at night. Everyone stops because they ran into Ymir, Nanaba, and Jean. You wave and smile as they all wrinkle there noses at you. The moon then comes out and you spot a place where you could stay.

"Lets go there!" You yell, making your horse run towards it. Ymir and Reiner catch up to you as Jean sighs. Bertholdt comes near him and tells him something. "Hey, Jean. Can I tell you something?" He shrugs and looks over at him, "Reiner is planning on getting (f/n) for himself, he's gonna lie and say that you told him you have a crush on someone else, and that you're planning on leaving her. The only reason why I'm telling you this is because I'm sick of Reiner paying attention to (f/n) and ignoring me half of the time. But be careful, try coming up with something that (f/n) can believe you with, you have to make it up before Reiner tells her tonight and makes her his new girlfriend."

Jean slowly nods and shakes in fear, his eyes water a little but he wipes it off and makes his horse go towards you, Reiner sees him and snarls. Grabbing your hand and going faster, "Reiner! We're going to fast!" You yell as he smirks, "What? You can't take it. You can come with me." He says grabbing you by your waist and putting you in back of him while he leashes your horse. He goes faster as Ymir as a worried expression on, she stops slowly and goes at the same pace as Jean. "This isn't right. It's like he's trying to steal her away from you." He looks over at Ymir, "He is. He's gonna tell her a lie causing us to break up." Her eyes widen as she makes her horse go Reiner's pace, but faster. "Oi, Reiner. Don't ev-" He shoves his horse into hers and she ends up falling on the ground. "Oops! Sorry!" He yells with a smirk.

As you all finally reach the place, you all settle down and go to sleep. Since you were especially tired from riding all day, you slept in Jean's hands. His arms were around your waist and your legs were tangled together. Reiner woke up slowly and looked over at both of you, narrowing his eyes at Jean. He was obviously jealous, you slowly woke up and tried to get out of his hands but he was holding to tight. How is he so strong when he's sleeping? You think in your head, you silently push him away and finally get out of his hold. You walk into a room and search for food, Reiner finally finds you and walks in. "Hey.. (f/n). I've got some news to tell you."

You turn your head around and smile, he blushes. "Jean doesn't love you anymore. He's planning on leaving you." Your eyes widen at his words. You drop all the stuff you were holding and clench your fists, you were trembling and your eyes became watery.

I can't believe this.. you thought cupping your hands over your eyes. Reiner walks over to you and hugs you. He slowly puts his thumb on your cheek as you look at him in the eyes. He smiles lightly as he grasps the back of your head and leans in for a kiss. You kiss him back, then crying on his shoulder. He pats your back until Jean comes into the room, "Oh. So it happened."

He says, with tears flowing down his face like a waterfall.
