Chapter 16

-JONAS'S POV-

I was talking to my ex, who had seen me ask out Kairi, and she kept on calling her a slut and ugly. I tried to stand up for Kairi, but my ex wouldn't let me speak. She saw Kairi walking back towards me and smashed her lips onto mine. Kairi saw us and she ran off. I tried to chase her but she outran me.

I called an uber and got back to Nathan's house with all of her bags. I ran inside and saw Nathan sitting on the couch. As soon as he saw me, he walked up to me and punched me.

"HOW COULD YOU FUCKING HURT KAIRI LIKE THAT" Nathan yelled and slapped me.

"IT WASN'T MY FAULT! WHERE IS KAIRI" I yelled back.

Nathan stepped back and said "She's not here, I'll tell you that".

I grabbed Nathan's arm, his keys, and Kairi's bags. We drove to Kairi's house and I had Nathan park a few houses away. I set the bags outside of her front door, rang her door bell, and hid behind the corner.

After a few seconds, the door opened and I heard someone sniffling. They slammed the door without taking the bags, and I got a text.

K- I don't want your shit Jonas

J- Kairi at least let me explain what happened please.

K- I know exactly what happened

J- No you don't. It wasn't what it looked like I promise. Just please, come outside.

I heard the door open and I walked out from behind the corner. Kairi's face looked shocked.

"Nathan actually beat you up" she looked surprised.

"Yep, he did." I murmured. I forgot that my face was probably bleeding and puffy.

"Get your ass inside" she said grabbing the bags and putting them on the floor.

I walked inside, and she grabbed rubbing alcohol, bandaids, and wet paper towels.

"Sit" she said, pointing to the couch.

I sat down and she started to clean the eye that Nathan punched. I winced in pain from the rubbing alcohol, but Kairi just said "sorry" and kept going. She put a bandaid under my eye where it was bleeding and threw away the trash. She grabbed an ice pack and gave it to me to put on my eye.

"Now what's this story about you kissing your ex?" she sassed.

"She walked up to me after you went to the bathroom and she started calling you a slut, and ugly. I tried to stand up for you but she cut me off every time I tried to talk. Then, when she saw you walking back towards me, she kissed me because she wanted to make you upset. Kairi, I would never hurt you." I apologized. "I'm so sorry"

She didn't say anything, but she just walked over to me and kissed me. She hugged me tightly and kissed my cheek.

"I love you Jonas, and I'm sorry that I ever doubted you." she cried.

Just then, Nathan walked in and ruined the moment.

"Sooo, y'all are good now?" Nathan asked raising his eyebrow.

We looked at each other and Kairi nodded.

"Yeah, We're amazing" I smiled and kissed Kairi.
