Jason's P.O.V
Jason feels his heart beating faster. Goldia is here, up in front of him, and waits his answer. Her eyes reflect the hope, the panic and a great courage.
Jason is shared. On one side, he wants to embrace her, to caress her, to kiss her, to tell her these four little words : " I love you too ". Then he remembers what his teammates told him a very long time ago.
-You must work alone. If you don't, you'll put everybody in danger.
The last thing which he wants is to put the life of this adorable Octoling in danger. His heart is squeezed when he says :
-Listen, Goldia...
Goldia's P.O.V
Goldia sees clearly Jason isn't well. He's probably shocked. Maybe she'd have had to tell him her feelings later. But everything is done, now.
Jason sighs and says :
-Listen, Goldia... You're a very cute, cool and nice Octoling. I love spending time with you. You're a super girl, and all...
Goldia smiles a bit.
-But I... I can't be your boyfriend.
He could stab her with a rusty knife : this would less have pain in her than to hear that.
-W-Why ? I don't understand...
-It's not against you, Jason apologizes. It's just... I don't think I really love you. I'm terribly sorry, Goldia. I know I hurt you but... can we stay friends ?
-Friends ?
-Yes, Goldia. Two friends who know they can count the one on the other one.
Goldia goes away a little. She knows they can never be friends anymore. There would be from now on and forever a barrier between them. She tries hard to smile.
-O... Of course, Jason. Now, excuse me, but... I-I must go home. See you soon, OK ?
-Wait ! Goldia !
She turns around and runs away by trying to hide her tears and leaves Jason, alone, in front of the Squid Sisters' studio.
Jason's P.O.V
Jason sits down on a seat in the train. This one begins to move forward.
Purple Inkling looks through the window. Goldia's sad look and voice haunt him.
-You made the better choice, Jason, he says himself inside. For you two.
But, despite this, he feels the sadness. He knows he lost the love of his life. Jason bites himself the lips. No way that he begins crying in front of everybody.
( Heya, CerulanSweet is back ! What happened ? BUT WHAT JUST HAPPENED ??? Jason, what did you do ? Why ? I need a good explanation ! You just broke Goldia's heart, yours and mine ! *cries*
