I slowly lifted my head up just to see a beautiful woman staring into my eyes from the other side of the window. Her beautiful dirty blond hair glistened, and her eyes shined under the moonlight.

But, she was soaking wet, with drops of water falling from her hair, though that didn't seem to bother her. The rain didn't seem to affect her at all, for she remained there, soon tilting her head ever so slightly, continuing her intentful stare into my ocean-like eyes.

I mirrored her tilt of the head, which caused her to induce a slight smile. And, for some reason, that smile seemed to repair and mend some of the brokenness and despair within me. And, in that smile, I saw hope. I saw life- life how it should be.

As if in a trance, I felt my fingers moving slowly, curious as to how they would feel in her hands. And, as if she were feeling the exact same way, she slowly moved her hand and pressed it against her side of the glass window. And, if it weren't for the glass barrier itself, our hands would have been touching. My heart beat quickened once again as my thumb involuntarily moved in a circular motion, as if it were feeling the palm of the woman's hand and could feel her warmth.

I smiled, which was rare. But, in that moment, I genuinely felt something I could only think could be happiness.

And then, her lips parted, as if she were preparing to speak.

"Hi." Her sweet tender voice resonated through my ears.

I felt my smile widening as I stared at her with fascination.

"Hi," I whispered back.

I slowly unlocked the window and lifted it up, never allowing my eyes to leave hers. I then extended my hands for her to take, and she gladly, though hesitantly, slipped her fingers through mine.

As soon as our hands touched, I felt this inexplicable energy flowing through my skin, shocking every part of me. My heart pounded against my chest as I pulled the woman up and into my room. Still holding one of her hands, I closed the window and locked it back up with the other.

I swiftly turned around to face my guest once more.

"W-why... w-why were y-you out there?" I found myself stuttering, due to my nerves.

The woman just smiled back at me as she soon wrapped her arms around my body. I sank into her embrace, immediately enjoying the unexpected affection, and feeling all of the air within me escaping.

This woman is... interesting.

I tossed and turned under the bed sheets as I felt my heart escalating in my chest, the way it had in my dream.

During my dream state, I had no idea who the woman was, only that she seemed interesting and strange. But, I didn't feel threatened by her. That was not what caused my heart to beat like a drum. It was due to the mere fact that even having just met the woman for such a short period of time, all of this feeling and emotion came from seemingly nowhere and had presented itself all in an instant. It was as if all of time had compressed into a single point, and there I was, staring at the woman as if she were someone I had known for decades.

As my eyes flickered open, it had all rushed to me.

The woman I saw outside in the rain was Katherine.

For some reason, it felt awfully like one of our past lives. I began to wonder if that was actually Katherine and I during one of our past lives or if it was some distortion due to my dream.
