Katherine's P.O.V.

"The time has come for me to leave, Angelica." I looked at Angelica, my eyes filled with honesty before they narrowed, revealing the once masked sorrow. "I'm so sorry," I spoke.

I fought my tears from streaming down my face, not bearing to see the look on the poor girl's face. Though she wouldn't remember me leaving her, it tore me apart.

God told me that once I would leave her life, all she would remember was her life suddenly changing in her favor, and all of the times I had intervened would be replaced with her sudden determination for that change. Slowly, the memory of me ever existing in her life and in her world would vanish, until she would live on, forgetting all about me.

That was for the best, wasn't it?

Onto my next project...

Unexpectedly, she held onto my arms, preventing me from levitating away from her just yet. I gasped and my eyes widened.

"A-Angelica..." She couldn't possibly have fallen in love me this much... could she?

"Don't leave me!" I felt her hold tighter onto my arms, using all of her strength to keep me near her. "Please..." She breathed, tears becoming visible in her sad eyes.

"Angelica..." I caressed her cheek with my free hand. "My darling... Don't be sad." I leaned in to kiss her passionately one last time. There was so much love in the kiss, and just as much sorrow. "You will feel better tomorrow. Okay?" Ugh, this was killing me- seeing her in pain.

"Not if you're not here with me," she protested. I felt my body being pulled upwards, being sucked into the portal.

"My time is running out. Angelica, please. Promise me... forget me. Live on."

Angelica sniffled, looking straight into my eyes.

Shaking her head, her hand tightened in mine.

"I-I can't... I won't." She seemed to mentally confirm this fact. "I rather go back to my life before and still have you in it than to have a perfect life that doesn't include you. I love you... I wish I could have more time with you to be able to say those words to you every day and every night."

Her hand loosened, only the tip of my fingers in hers.

"I'm selfish." She held a painful smile. "I can't help the fact that others need you too. I wish you were all mine though."

I began to realize perhaps that's what I had wanted as well.

She was different from everyone else I had helped. I think... I think I am in love with her. Truly. And, she loved me.

There had to be some kind of loop hole. Some kind of way to not have to leave her completely.

"Bye, Katherine," she breathed, releasing me from her hold.

Neither one of us broke eye contact, savoring our last seconds with one another.

"I will always lo-"

As I transported, the image of Angelica remained in my thoughts.

Me too.

I continued to brush my fingers through Angelica's magnificent dark hair and unconsciously pulled her closer over the sheets of the bed.

The moon's borrowed light shined through the window and had gleamed over Angelica's resting face until she awakened, her eyes flickering open towards me. I held her close in my arms as we lied on the bed, my memories leaving me in a daze.
