"Would you like to find out?"

I looked at her with my jaw gaped, perplexed, but that gap soon widened as Katherine's celestial wings appeared out of thin air, in all of their glory. I marveled at them in both fascination and astonishment.

They were beautifully pure with the whitest feathers assembled perfectly on each wing. They looked both soft to the touch, yet strong and fortifying.

I reached for her offering hand, and a glimmer of a smile had crossed my lips as I felt her pull me into her arms, her wings gently wrapping around me. All I could see was her shimmering blue eyes looking down upon me.

"Take me as high as you can."

Her dimples deepened as she pecked my nose. She then cradled my face while gazing into my ocean-like eyes.

"Then, hold on tight." As if she has to tell me twice.

She wrapped her arms around my torso, and my arms overlapped hers. With a swing of her feathers, I soon felt a gust of wind like never before as I was lifted off of the ground I had grown accustomed to. She went further up, and the fireworks and the city became smaller and smaller.

The taste of the air was cleaner now, and it filled my lungs and swayed through my hair. I felt light, as light as Katherine's feathers, the chambers of my heart pulsing with pure joy. It feels like I'm dreaming. It didn't feel real to experience such weightlessness; such freedom.

Feeling the comfort of Katherine's arms, keeping me from falling into oblivion, I slowly closed my eyes and let myself soak it all in.

The sound of her wings was a reminder that I was awake- that this was actually happening.

"We're flying, Katherine. We're flying!" I beamed, my eyes slowly flickering open again.

The city was only specks from my eye's view now, but we weren't high enough to be in the clouds. The fireworks looked like those pop-rocks children used to throw on the ground. I giggled at the sight.

"That, we are. How are you feeling?"

"Like I'm free. Like I can conquer anything. But, I always feel that way with you."

I felt the press of Katherine's lips on the back of my head, and I felt my body grow numb; my mind swarming in bliss.

"I'd like to take you higher. Can I?"

"Always."

And with that, Katherine flapped her white-feathered wings and reached new heights, piercing through the clouds.

My breath faltered as the air thinned, but I was too overcome by my excitement to notice or care. The moon seemed so close as if I could grab it and clasp it in my hands. A glowing light. A token of my adventure tonight with the one and only, Katherine Hale.

I leaned back within Katherine's hold and pressed myself further against her, enjoying her warmth through the cool atmosphere of the night.

The angel hovered and dived between clouds, spinning a couple of times, and I giggled through it all before she soon descended from the clouds and gracefully landed us on the grass, her wings fluttering.

Catching my breath, I slowly turned around to face my guardian angel, just to witness her vibrant smile and her flushed cheeks. She looked so happy, like she was finally back in her own habitat- where she belonged.

"That was..."

"...amazing," I finished for her, my smile widening. "You're amazing."

I cradled her cheeks with my hands, and hers lowered down my back. Her light blue orbs were filled with liveliness and affection as they seeped into mine, drawing me in with the strong pull. I let out a short light-hearted laugh as I gently brushed away the loose strands of blond streaks away from Katherine's face, her face now glowing under the moon's borrowed light. My hands then lowered back to her flushed cheeks, a thumb brushing over her lips while I stared at them with hunger in my eyes.
