Angelica's P.O.V.
It was too bad we had school today because, for the first time all week, the skies were clear- no signs of clouds- and the warmth of the sun was vibrant and infectious. I could feel some of that warmth as the refracted light seeped through the window, reaching half of my face down to my shoulder.
I rested my chin on the palm of my hand and smiled as I sat at my desk in the front of Katherine's classroom, peering out the window.
A beautiful blue bird flew to the window and rested his feet over the edge. He looked at me with a tilted head, his eyes innocent though observant. I matched his tilt, my smile only growing as I enjoyed the company of the bird with fine blue feathers.
"You're always the first one here," Katherine's voice echoed through the vacant room.
The bird flew away, and I turned my head to face Katherine, whose attention was already keenly on me. Her arms were crossed and a faint smile was worn over her rosy lips.
I wanted to capture her lips with my own, but we were at school. I couldn't do such a thing.
Katherine set her bag down on her desk, prior to walking around it and stopping in front of me. My eyes rose to meet hers, and my laugh lines deepened the more I stared into them. They were the icy-blue eyes that would always leave me in a daze. I was so compelled to kiss her then- to lean forward and invade the little space between us, but no. That can wait for tonight.
It was probably all of this worry of the loop that had me feeling this way. I just wanted a break before the storm. This magical being may have had control over our loop, but we had our own freewill to choose how we would pass the time.
We still have our choices.
Katherine rested her hands on the desk as she kneeled slightly, her eyes narrowing slightly to my lips. She must had been having the same struggle.
"Always, for my favorite class," I whispered, my eyes focused completely and solely on hers, drowning in them. And, my hand unconsciously joined hers, my fingers slowly sliding in between them, a shared warmth rejuvenating between us.
The curvature of her lips stretched, her once hidden dimples now showing. Her smile is so beautiful.
Every time I witnessed her smile, my heart felt warm, and I was reminded, with each time, that I loved her.
"How did it go?"
All day, I was anticipating how Katherine's proposition to the principal had went. Was all of our hard work the previous night enough to convince Principal Strickland to change the prom date in our favor? I was hoping so because, if not, we would have to come up with a different plan- it would for sure not be as affective as this one, however. I mean, what would be more crowded and obscure as prom? Oh, and legal. Though I knew that chances were that I wouldn't stay in this loop for long, I wanted to prevent doing anything illegal if possible.
Katherine knew what I was referring to, and her eyes held a spark in them, crinkling a little, as her smile widened.
"Very well." My eyes enlarged. "We did it, Angelica," she breathed, and we shared a knowing look with one another, success fueling our eyes.
My lips parted, the corners curving upward as I stared at her affectionate expression, when students began filing in. Quickly, we both knocked ourselves out of our intense eye-contact, and our fingers slipped away from one another's.
Katherine straightened her posture and conformed herself into the professionalism all of the students were used to from her. They would only see this side of her, whereas I...
