Wild wind whipped through my caramel colored hair as Riley sped dangerously through the back road in his midnight black Chevrolet Impala.
I gazed out the window, watching the greens flash by, admiring the nature.
"What's on your mind?" Riley asked as he shut the radio off, glancing at my face.
"Keep your eyes on the road." I exclaimed, knowing how reckless Riley was, and how he always seemed to be attracted to accidents and bad things. But I guess it was the same story for me.
That only encouraged Riley to keep his eyes on me. I felt my eyes turn sad as I mumbled, "please" and Riley sighed, slowing down and keeping his eyes on the road.
"Do you think Connor is alright?" I finally asked after a few minutes of silence. I watched Riley's grip on the wheel tighten, his face showed no emotion.
"Is that what's bothering you?" Riley questioned, his speed slowly becoming fast again.
I let out a weary sigh and shrugged, my eyes finding the trees again. "It's all I've been thinking about. I haven't seen him in almost two months. I need to know why. Why he would betray me." I felt my voice crack and I tried pushing my feelings away.
Riley's large hand that was always warm and soft, took hold of my own, giving it a tight squeeze. "Kody, you need to stop thinking about him."
"Why?" I whispered. I already knew why but I just felt it was instinct to ask. My eyes gazed at Riley's face now. He seemed troubled, his lips parted, almost hesitant to say what he was gonna.
"Because maybe you won't get the answer you're hoping for."
I knew it was 99% certain the reason why Connor was working with Bobby didn't have any logical good reason behind it.
"How much longer?" I asked Riley as he began turning the volume of the radio back up.
"About thirty minutes." He grinned, still holding my hand as he gave it another squeeze.
Riley and I were going to spend one of the last weeks of summer together in the woods.
It has "bad idea" written all over it, but I trust Riley and I just needed some time to think and be away from everyone and the outside world; just the both of us.
Neither one of us had told Joan and Mark that we were dating, and we haven't planned on doing so either. Not for awhile.
I somewhat suspected they knew, but then again, if they did, they'd say something, and it wouldn't sound pretty either.
As if Riley could read my mind he mumbled, "You know I'm going to protect you. I won't let any bad thing get near you. You're my angel."
I felt my cheeks heat up, Riley could call me any name and it never has the effect as angel does on me.
I just thought it was precious.
"I like you a lot." I mumbled, my lashes fluttering as I admired Riley's perfect face.
"I like you a lot, a lot." He grinned, his straight white teeth showing. This had become our way of saying we loved each other.

A few minutes later and Riley was pulling his car into a dirt driveway, a beautiful log cabin appearing in front of a giant lake. I smiled with fascination and unbuckled my seat belt, climbing out of the car to take in everything.
No one ever understood my love for nature but Riley tried not to get all weirded out over it.
I felt a pair of warm, firm arms wrap around my waist, spinning me around, crushing my chest against theirs. I smiled adoringly, gazing up at my beautiful boyfriend, and he rocked us back and forth slowly.
I never knew Riley could be so sweet, and gentle, and romantic. All of his relationships were usually based on sex, but he treated me so differently.
"You're gorgeous." He murmured, resting his forehead against my own. I smiled and ran my hand through his hair.
I know if anyone else would attempt doing that they'd have a broken arm.
He shut his eyes, keeping his head against mine and he inhaled and exhaled slowly. I left a soft kiss on his lips and felt his lips etch into a smile.
"Come help me get the suitcases, blankets, and pillows." He spoke softly, taking my hand and walking with me to the car where he opened the trunk.
It took us three trips but we finally got everything into the entrance of the cabin and I shut the door behind us, gazing around inspectively.
"It's so homey." I giggled as Riley took my hand, leading me away from the army of bags and suitcases.
"I'm sleepy." He whined innocently as he dragged me into the bedroom, laying on the bed, shutting his eyes. I rolled my eyes and kicked off my sneakers, crawling onto the bed beside Riley.
"You're stupid." I teased, resting my head on my tan arm as I looked at Riley's face, watching as he smiled, chuckling softly.
"You love me." He stated, keeping his eyes shut, not thinking I noticed as he peeked at me to see if I was looking.
"Do not." I joked, watching as Riley let out a fake gasp and sprang up, hovering over top of me.
"Take it back!" He exclaimed, laughing as I tried crawling away.
Riley pinned my arms over my head by my wrists and I looked up at him through long lashes and smirked, "Never."
He began tickling me, my tummy the ticklish part of my body, besides my feet and neck and I let out a loud gasp, begging him to stop. "Riley!" I whined, trying to get him away.
"Take it back!" He repeated, tickling me more and more.
"Fine, fine, fine! I love you, now stop, you shithead!"
Riley laughed and pulled me on top of him, holding my hips securely. "I am irresistible."
"You're cocky." I rolled my eyes, laying my head against Riley's chest, playing with his hair.
"Confident." He corrected me, I laughed softly, and lightly kissed his collarbone, knowing that was his weak spot.
"Babeee" he dragged out the word, his eyes becoming hooded as I ran my tongue over the skin and bone.
"Yes baby?" I asked innocently, as if I wasn't doing anything.
"Don't act innocent, you know what you're doing." He smirked, biting his lip as soon as I started planting kisses along his collarbone again.
"I need you." He whispered, his voice shaky.
"I thought you'd never say so." I replied with a smirk.
