The next morning I awoke to a fiery of golden bright rays stinging into my weary eyes. Sweat drenched off of my forehead, and the pulse of my heart rung like a drum. I dreamt my redundant reality once again.
I was still in Connor's, now clean, room. By the looks of it he wasn't just bluffing about cleaning. I can't wait to see what pictures he posted of me online later today. Note my sarcasm.
Speaking of Connor, he was hanging halfway off of his twin size bed. Whoops.
As silently as I could, I attempted to sneak out of his room. I hope no one walked in on us last night. We'd both be in for hell later on.
As I approached his door I realized it had been locked. Good boy, Connor.
Tiptoeing into the noiseless hallway I scurried down the carpeted steps and towards the living room.
Riley, to my fullest surprise, was sitting right in the middle of the silky cotton beige loveseat, watching a movie I couldn't identify.
As I walked past the couch and plopped into the velvet armchair beside the bookshelf, he ignored my presence.
Awkwardly leaning forward in my seat, I tried to understand what was occurring in the movie, but my eyes kept drifting towards Riley's exhausted face.
His dark eyes hung heavily under his lids, crying for sleep. And every so often he'd shut them for the simplest second, and then he'd reopen them and continue watching his movie.
He didn't once turn to speak to me. Not even to register the fact I was glaring at him.
Signing I stood again and walked to the bathroom to bathe and cleanup myself.
What is Riley's problem? He treats me like I'm nothing. Am I nothing?
Stripping from my clothing I tossed it into the laundry basket beside the left wall, and I maneuvered with the hot/cold faucet until I got to the temperature I prefer.
The aqua suds poured down upon my body, burning my flesh in a nice way.
Searching for my coconut shampoo and conditioner, I lathered my hair in the marvelous scents and quickly washed the soaps from my locks.
The Mcdonough's would be awake soon. I needed to get breakfast started.
Cooking breakfast was my way of showing appreciation.
Turning the faucet off, the remaining water dripped from my body and mane.
Wrapping a towel around myself, I grabbed another and quickly dabbed my soaking hair; leaving it in messy curls.
Combing through it with my fingers, I gave up and exited the room, leaving the door open to air out the steam.
Heading towards the living room again, the television was shut off and the sofa had been abandoned. Raising an eyebrow in suspicion, I sighed and walked towards the farthest wall to search for an outfit.
Grabbing any pair of underwear and bra I could first find, I decided on a pair of black leggings and a hot pink tanktop as my attire for today. Quickly changing, I hung my towel back up and began to cook breakfast.
About 30 minutes later I had cooked a total of twenty pancakes, two packs of bacon, ten eggs, forty-five French toast sticks, two cups of coffee, and I even had enough time to runout and buy Toby, Connor, and Riley their favorite drink from Starbucks.
Yes, this family eats way too much, and the boys are addicted to their lady drinks.
Mr. and Mrs. Mcdonough stepped into the kitchen with enormous smiles pasted on their faces after they took in my master piece.
"How do you manage to do this everyday?" Mrs. Mcdonough questioned in excitement, like she did every morning.
And as I always, I responded, "I'm a morning person." with a smile.
Connor came crashing down the steps in dismay, but when he saw his parents and me smiling, he caught his breath and stared at me in relief.
He knew we didn't get caught.
Toby came in next, only wearing his favorite pair of grey sweatpants. He rubbed his eyes and joined his mother and father at the table. Connor leaned against the counter beside me and mumbled, "I thought they already shipped you away when you weren't next to me this morning." he admitted, chuckling.
"Well, I'm sure you'd be on your majestic stead, racing to save me before execution." I concluded. He rolled his eyes and playfulled bumped my side into the drawer and went to sit next to Toby.
I didn't feel hungry so I went back to the living room to lay down for a little.
It must have only been five minutes but my eyes flashed open when a cold finger brushed against my shoulder.
"Sorry," Toby apologized with an enormous grin on his face. "my mom and dad wanted you to hear whatever news they have." I felt my heart skip a beat.
Gulping I stood from the couch and walked into the kitchen with Toby to see almost all the food I cooked had been consumed, by Riley of course, who had soaked charcoal brunette hair now.
"You wanted me in here for an announcement?" I asked, while taking a seat beside Mr. Mcdonough.
"Ah, yes, about that. Connor, Riley, Toby, and Kody, we're going to be spending our twenty-first annevarsity together in the Bahamas for the next three weeks, so you four will have the house all to yourselves." Mr. Mcdonough indicated about himself and his wife.
Were they drunk or. They didn't even trust us going across the street to the shopping centers by ourselves, and now they're leaving us here for three weeks?
Connor's mouth was gaping in surprise, along with Riley, and they both stared at each other in excitement. Trust me, we were never left home alone. This was amazing news.
"Don't go getting all giddy yet. We'll be sure to check-in on you all three times a day, to make sure there are no parties being thrown here. But your mother and I trust you four to keep the house clean and not go around inviting your boyfriends and girlfriends over." He informed with an eyebrow raising, waiting for agreement. Toby, Riley, Connor, and I nodded our heads in agreement.
"When are you and mom leaving?" Toby asked in glee.
"This Friday, baby!" Mrs. Mcdonough answered her son with a warm beam. That's what I loved about her. She was always so sweet and kind.
Friday was four days from today. I could already tell what everyone was thinking.
Party.
