The bag that she was holding, fell off her hand as she stood there frozen and rooted to the ground . Sanyukta felt as if her heart would come out any minute and explode.

"Hhhh... How....How do you know about it ?", she somehow managed to ask.

"Krithika! Don't you have any sense on what to talk to a bride? ", Krithika's mom interrupted . "Stop blabbering and let her rest for a while . She's already tired after a long journey"

"I saw it in the newspaper" , Krithika chipped ignoring her mom and pointed towards a rack where all the newspapers were stacked, before she walked away.

Sanyukta ran towards the rack with her heart thumping in her throat. She started rummaging through the newspapers with shaky hands in an attempt to read the news . The tears which were brimming in her eyes was making it difficult for her to read the headlines. Just then she heard her mom call her out .

"Sanyukta!! What are you doing there. Come here and have a look at these return gifts which we are going to give to your in laws on the day of your wedding "

She had enough of everything. She wanted to scream and end it all . Drops of tears started cascading down her eyes. She ran out of the living room , making her way towards her bedroom. She slammed the door behind and latched it tight, so that nobody comes inside. She then fell on the bed and started crying under the pillows.

"Why God ??? Why ???? Why are you doing this to me. Please God!!!! Please wake me up from my slumber and let this be just a bad dream ", she muttered crying hysterically. Hours passed and she kept crying until her tears denied to come out of her eyes. Soon her head started aching and she didn't realise when she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep....

Sanyukta felt a soft hand caressing her forehead, making stir and curl on to the other side.

"Sanyukta !!", she heard a deep masculine voice calling out her name.

She slowly stretched her eyes open and saw a tall frame hovering over her in the darkness of her unlit room . She woke up with a jerk.

"It is me, Sanyu. ", her father said switching on the lamp on her nightstand.

"Papa!!", she sighed and held his hand.

"Wake up, my dear. It's seven thirty. Your mom is calling you downstairs for dinner", he smiled.

She nodded her head in reply and blinked back the tears that were threatening to come out of her eyes. She had to tell it to him before it gets too late .

"Papa!!! I have to talk to you about something really important . I .........", she was interrupted in between as her mobile beeped with a message.

It was a text message from an unknown number which looked unusually familiar. She opened the message with quivering hands.

It read-

Welcome to Hyderabad , Baby.
Worried ??? Well, Your worry ends here. Come up on your terrace. Your dearest friend is waiting for you..

-RAJVEER

Her eyes widened in shock while her heart thumped madly against her chest . She felt her blood rushing through her veins to her head as the cold fear started overtaking her senses with each passing second.

"Just a minute, Pa..", she gasped for air as she tried to speak.

She excused herself and ran out of her room, making her way through the corridor which led to the backyard. She opened the door and ran into the garden until she reached the stairs that led to the terrace. She ran upstairs taking two steps at a time . By the time she reached the end of the stairs, she was panting heavily. She gasped, trying to fill her mouth with air in an attempt to breathe but her throat did not open to admit any air inside. She pushed the door which was already left ajar and stepped on the terrace.

It was pitch dark.

She turned around and moved her hand across the wall trying to locate the switchboard. As soon as she switched on the light, the whole terrace was lit up brightly , revealing a tall figure who stood in front of her.

Her breath hitched in her throat and her whole body froze on the spot where she was standing. Tears started streaming down her eyes uncontrollably. She couldn't believe her own eyes.

The tall figure took two steps forward , with his gaze fixed on the girl who had been haunting him since the day he had left her.

Sanyukta kept staring at him without blinking her eyes. As she saw his body move , her lips finally said his name , confirming that he was there for real.

"R.A.N.D.H.I.R............"
