The moment she uttered the word, his mobile rang, aloud. She was not sure whether he heard what she said . He took out a big mobile out of his pocket. She was sure, it was a smart phone .
"Randhir... I ...", she tried to speak but he showed his hand and stopped her in the middle.
"I am getting a call, don't you see it", he muttered rudely.
He was tensed. He did not expect the call now. He could neither attend the call nor walk away as both might be a problem for him. He quickly finished his meal , bid her a bye and left.
Sanyukta did not get a moment to ask him about what she had told. She was embarrassed and confused at the same time.
He had told her that he doesn't use a latest phone. So ,Where did the new phone come from? Had he been hiding something from her? What was the call about? Even if it was a personal call , he could have answered it at least. Why didn't he answer the call ?
She felt something was strange!!!
Two days passed by and Randhir did not visit her house. The competition was just four days away. She was worried and confused about Randhir's behaviour the other day . What was he doing? Had she been speculating too much? Had she been hasty? His imprecise nature left behind questions which confused her mind . She could not confirm he was wrong but she could neither assume he was right.
She checked her watch. It was 3.15 P.M. It was time for orders in 'Elite catering '. She held her head. She felt she couldn't do it today. She took her mobile and posted a message in her group that Elite catering was not functioning today.
She sat in silence for an hour. She decided to make coffee for herself. In another few minutes, the entire house was filled with the aroma of the brewing coffee. Just then, the door bell rang. She simmered the flame and walked towards the door.
Stalking few books in hand, that rose up to his face, stood Randhir , craning his neck above the books.
"It's heavy. Would you mind helping", he asked .
Sanyukta was perplexed. She was sure to ask him a few things, to set them straight.
She helped him place the books on the table and turned towards him. He saw her. She knew those eyes would daze her mind , make her crazy and dumb her tongue. She did not meet his eyes .
"I know you are angry", Randhir commenced as he sat on the couch while she sat opposite to him in silence .
"Im so sorry, I had to leave the other day. It was a call from a friend, who got caught in a small misunderstanding with the police. I had to be there to help him off the case. I was not really sure how would I explain it to you, since it involved cops. Moreover it would cause you unnecessary concerns to brood over , when you have big things to ponder", he smiled.
She shook her head. He was convincing, but she was not ready to believe him this time. She looked away. He got up and slowly moved towards her .
"Randhir please!! ", she spoke for the first time in the past ten minutes. "I know you have reasons. But you are confusing Me", she held her head. "Your actions...", she paused and continued. "Your actions are either disturbing me and rattling my heart or confusing me and rattling my mind".
He knelt down before her and looked into her eyes. She looked away, to avoid his gaze.
"Sanyukta, Please look at me!", he pleaded.
