Part # 37

Both Vikram and Tanya turned around and saw Sanyukta's mom standing at the other end of the corridor.

"Yes Aunty ??", Vikram managed to reply as drop of sweat rolled down his face. He wasn't sure if she heard what he just shared with Tanya.

"Is Rajveer still here ??"

"No Aunty. He just left ", Vikram sighed in relief .

"Oh Okay ", she smiled and turned towards Tanya. "Tanya, I have made arrangements for your stay in Sanyukta's room . Please be comfortable and let me know if you need anything "

"Sure aunty. Thank you so much "

The moment Randhir walked out of her room, Sanyukta felt as if the world started collapsing around her. She could no longer get air to breathe. She fell down on her knees and cried her heart out . She didn't have enough courage to accept him as her fears and insecurities were clouding her mind . She couldn't trust him anymore as she didn't know who he was . She didn't know whether all that he said and did for her in Bangalore, was true or a part of his plan to hoax her .

"Sanyukta!!!!", Tanya yelled the minute she entered Sanyukta's room. She pulled Sanyukta in her embrace and tried to console her .

"Shhhh!!!! It's okay Sanyukta. Please calm down. Everything will be fine ", Tanya chipped caressing her back while Sanyukta sobbed uncontrollably in her embrace .

"I didn't mean to hurt him,Tanya. But I can't help it . I can't trust him anymore ", Sanyukta said in a broken voice. She was broken for rejecting him although it was the right thing to do at the current time.

"You haven't hurt him , Sanyukta. In fact anyone in your place would do the same", Tanya replied sincerely and Sanyukta hugged her tight feeling relieved that she didn't lose her friend in her .

"Come you need rest", Tanya said helping Sanyukta stand up on her feet and walked her to her bed. She helped her lay down on her pillow and sat beside her caressing her hair until she fell asleep.

She covered Sanyukta with her duvet and then laid herself beside her on the other side of the bed, staring at her pale face and swollen eyes. She just wished Randhir would man up and win back Sanyukta's heart. She couldn't bear to see her best friend all shattered and broken like this. She closed her eyes and slept with these thought lingering in her mind.

The next morning, Sanyukta opened her eyes as the sun rays fell on her face. She stretched her eyes open and sat up on bed , rubbing her eyes to remove the drowsiness and heaviness in them due to all the crying. The minute her eyes got adjusted to the light , her gaze wandered around her room making her gasp in shock.

"OH MY GOD!!! what is all this???", she asked no one in particular .

Her room was filled with beautiful bouquets all around. They were big, small , all sizes of bouquets with beautiful roses of all the colours that were available. Her eyes then fell on a big banner with a " SORRY "written in bold .

Just then Tanya entered the room with a big grin.

"What's all this, Tanya ", Sanyukta asked.

"What do I know?? Ask the one who has done it!", Tanya chipped shrugging her shoulders.

"What do you mean?", Sanyukta frowned in confusion .

Tanya smile pointing towards the window.

She frowned deeply and ran towards the window of her bedroom only to see a puppy faced Randhir, holding another SORRY banner .

Sanyukta gritted her teeth in anger on his antics to woo her . She took the bouquet that was placed on the table next to her , threw it on his face and shut the window.

"That was mean!!", Tanya exclaimed.

"Oh! So you were the one who was playing Cupid here "

"Come on , Sanyukta. You know how much I disliked him. When his love for you can impress a third person, who had been hating him all this while, it should surely convince you who had been in love with him", Tanya said .

"He had already done enough. And now he has taken away my best friend too", Sanyukta snapped at her and made her way to the bathroom . She needed a cold shower to calm herself down.
