Once Darena entered The Trail of Revelation, the sky became dark and the sound of thunder rang into her ears. She nervously looks back, but does not see the beautiful ocean in which she had landed not so long ago, instead, she sees the same emptiness she had seen when she encountered Darten on The Ashen. Darena continues to walk, paying attention to everything around her, and looking out for anything that could jump out of nowhere and surprise her. After sometime of complete silence, she stumbles on a rock and almost falls to the floor, but she is able to hold herself up, and lucky her that she did, because a lovely floor of spikes was waiting below the floor of the path, which lay hidden to your eyes unless you stumbled on the rock. After carefully going around the now dangerous area, Darena is more careful and aware of her surroundings and the danger in every corner. Like 500 meters after the rock-spike incident, Darena spots a sign that reads as follows:
Beware stranger to this road, for you will see your true self and destiny in this path. Do not despair of you don't make it to the very end, since none have ever made it past half and returned.
-"So, am I supposed to feel grand if I make it to the very end and manage to come back? Oh well, I'll just make it as far as I can and hope I make it out alive."- Darena tells herself as she walks past the sign and further into the path. Not much time after she walks away from the sign, a black wolf with dark gray eyes jumps into the path, blocking her way. Darena tries to avoid the animal, but it leaps and lands on top of her, knocking Darena from her feet. The wolf's paws lay in Darena's chest, pushing her down. Darena locks gazes with the black creature, and she notices that the wolf's eyes are soft, with a hazel color hidden beneath the darkness of the grey. The Twilight Princess softens her gaze and raises a hand to pet the wolf's dark fur. The she wolf tenses as she feels the soft touch of Darena's hands on her body, but eventually she relaxes under her touch and gets off her chest, laying next to her instead, not wanting the petting to cease. This wolf is not like any other one, since it can actually think and act like a Human, unlike the rest of the wolves it once hunted with. Darena smiles and continues to caress the wolf's black hair, her fingers tangled in the soft fur.
-"I never thought that one from The Human Realm could be so kind to a creature like me."- The wolf says, surprising Darena, who hasn't had her share of talking animals not quite just yet.
-"Oh, I keep forgetting that animals can talk in Trinity. I guess you can say I'm still Human in someway."- Darena says, sitting up on the floor, next to the she wolf, who sits as well.
-"Not that Human anymore... you're immortal."- The she wolf says, her eyes now hazel and completely softened. Darena's eyes widen in surprise, not quite understanding why the she wolf would say such thing. She manages a weak laugh without breaking up.
-"Immortal? You're not being serious right? That's just a something that'll make me feel like if I was safe from harm and won't die in this Trail, right?"- Darena asks, nervously sweating. The she wolf shakes her head.
-"No, you are immortal. When you passed The Ashen, you became immortal, blessed with the chosen power for The True Hero. Darena, nobody can survive The Ashen, unless they are meant to be."- The she wolf replies, scaring Darena. If she was immortal, then what else did she not know?
-"Then, this was all meant to happen?"-
-"Destined, actually. You must be the one to keep balance in Trinity, no matter what may come. If you die, then Trinity shall perish."-
-"But I'm immortal now, so I won't die, right?"- The she wolf looks away and then turns, walking away from Darena. When almost out of sight, she whispers:
-"The answers lie here, but I do not know them. Farewell Princess."- The wolf disappears, leaving Darena in The Trail all by herself, again. She shakes off her loneliness as she stands from the floor and continues to walk on The Trail, feeling confused. Immortal? There had to be another explanation for all of this, and Darena is determined to find out what her true destiny is, no matter what it could cost her. Another sign quickly comes into view, and it reads as follows:
Halfway through! Feel proud! (But not too proud, because pride can be your worst enemy.)
Unsure of what to think, Darena swallows hard and keeps walking, trying hard not to worry too much. She takes the advice from the sign and decides to feel happy that she's survived this much. She continues to walk, wishing that she could figure out what the she wolf meant with the fact that the answers to her questions laid on The Trail, but that she didn't know them. This only added more tension to Darena, who felt no comfort in knowing she was immortal. She didn't know or even notice when the next trap came into view, because the anxiety and tension she was feeling distracted her from the dangers in The Trail. So distracted and deep in thought in fact she was she didn't notice when she reached the end of The Trail. It was evident that she had, since at the end of the smooth sandy path, a precipice begins. Darena peeks down and sees nothing but a thick mist, which didn't allow anything to be seen. When she turns to go back to where she came from, she sees that there is no longer a path, only emptiness. Darena then understands why nobody had returned form The Trail: because there was no way out, except throwing yourself into the precipice. But from what she had been told, everybody just went back to the empty space, hoping to find a way out, but they only perished in the attempt. Darena takes a deep breath before doing what nobody else had: she jumps into the precipice. Air fills her ears as she falls, water splashing onto her face and her entire body. Darena can see nothing, because darkness is what lies underneath the thick cloud of mist. Darena felt that she just kept falling onto an endless abyss, and when she feels herself fall into water once again, she doesn't react until she sees a burning light, which pierces her pupils, causing her to look away. When the light has reduced to an amount that can be seen without hurting the eye, Darena looks at the direction from which it came. All she sees is a cave, which looked very tempting, as if it called for you to go in. Darena hesitates before swimming to the edge of the water and going inside the cave, feeling afraid of what may lie inside the dark, moist place. Once inside, Darena turns her head at any sound that came to her ears, feeling paranoid. Upon being in the middle of the cave, Darena finds another precipice, but the cave continued. So that only leaves one choice: to jump over the precipice and not fall into an endless dark abyss. Darena closes her eyes and runs as fast as she can, and then jumps over the precipice, rolling onto the other side of the cave. Dust creeps into her eyes, hurting her sight for a few moments. After she stands, Darena continues to walk on the desolate cave, hoping to find the way out soon. Desperation had started to take its toll on her, and if she didn't get out of this mess soon, she would go mad. When she thought she'd go insane with panic, Darena sees light far away, which gives her the hope of an exit of the damp, endless cave. She follows the light and sometime after she is standing outside and in a beautiful forest of tall trees with dense leaves and thick, long branches. The sound of water comes from every corner of the forest, just as the soft chirping of birds and the melody of the other animals that had the forest as habitat. Darena smiles and follows the path that smalls soft stones marked. Now, she didn't fear for anything, she feels at ease. Nature was her second home, and her safe heaven. Even if she was starving and naked, she wouldn't mind one bit if she was in the calmness of a forest, surrounded by animals and flowing water. She walks pass lawns of flowers she didn't recognize, past lakes full of fish and frogs. Just picture the loveliest forest you have seen and put all the cutest animals in there, then multiply the cuteness by a million. Amazing and peaceful to the eye without a doubt. At the end of the path, a waterfall comes into view. This body of water made a lake deep down, and Darena jumps into the water below, not caring if she died or not. Once her body is underneath the water, everything turns bright. Darena frowns and tries to swim upward, but she is stuck under the bright waters. She can breathe normally, but feels as if she were drowning at the same time. This is the place where her destiny will be revealed. Here, Darena Matrixlyn will find out the truth about herself and many other things she couldn't even dream possible.
