Darlena Matrixlyn had been alive for as long as she was supposed to be dead. The illness never killed her, instead, it made her stronger. Her husband thought she had died, but she was recovering from spitting so much blood out. The same night her husband buried her in her tomb, she got out and placed a load of blankets so that people thought that she was still in there. After aimlessly walking around for days, she had restored herself with water and some bread, setting out to find her lost daughter, just like her husband. Darena was near, she knew it, but she still felt like the journey had no purpose. She wanted to see her daughter, but what would she do once she had her standing in front of her? What would she say? How would her daughter react? Would her daughter accept her, or would she be rejected? These and many more questions cursed through Darlena's mind as she walked through The Twilight Forest, her destination being the same place in which she was supposed to be buried, without knowing that her husband and daughter were too heading there.

-"Are we near Father?"- Darena asks her father, after walking for what seemed forever, it was actually just 30 minutes. Deren smirks.

-"Yes darling, we are. You sound so childish when you ask every 5 minutes if we are there yet. It makes me feel like if you were still a little girl, complaining because the way is long and you're just so lazy and tired. It's like if we had always been together, and nothing had ever happened. We missed you a lot child, too much to count. A parent can never stop loving their child, even if they know that they won't see them again."-

-"I'm not 5 anymore Father, don't treat me like a child." Darena pouts. Her face softens. "But yes, losing a child is tough. I know what it feels like."- Deren stares at his daughter in disbelief.

-"You... have had children?"- He asks, surprised by his daughter's reply. Darena laughs.

-"No Father, never in a thousand years, no offense. I'm not mother material. The last foster parents I had were a couple of 30 years of age, pretty young if you ask me. She lost a child, and I felt her sorrow from 100 miles away. Though I knew that they didn't love me, I still felt sorry for them and tried to cheer them up. They felt better afterwards, and they actually got attached to me, but then they moved me to another foster home. That's the thing about being switched constantly, you can't get attached to any of those parents, cause when they take you away, you end up suffering more than usual, because being moved from one home to another is depressing enough. But don't worry, I heard that they have a girl, and they named her Darene, so they're okay, and so am I."- Deren smiles, feeling relived to not have grandchildren just yet.

-"I see.... Well, we're almost there, just a few more minutes and we'll be there."- Darena smiles and keeps walking alongside her Father, silence ruling the atmosphere. Not too far away, Darlena walks at the same pace as her daughter and husband, trying hard to keep a low profile, though the terrain she was walking in was covered in dry branches, which squeaked whenever you stepped an inch near them. Though, she stepped over a branch that screamed out that it had been broken upon the contact. Both Darena and Deren turn to look at what had caused the sound, and they both stand with their mouths open and their eyes as wide as plates. Darlena remains frozen on her spot, realizing she had just been discovered by the ones she wanted to surprise. Deren takes a step towards his wife and extends his hand. Darlena takes it and and steps out of her hiding spot.

-"Deren, it's been so long... You're hair has grown a lot. It was shorter last time I saw you, and still no gray hair has made its way into your hair De-Oh!"- Darlena begins to say, but Deren cuts her off by pulling her into a bone crushing hug.

-"Darlena, my love, I've missed you so much... you have no idea."- He whispers, his hands in his wife's hair. Darlena smiles and returns the embrace, joy filing her insides.

-"I've missed you a lot too Deren, too much to describe with words or numbers." After a few moments of hugging, the Twilight Rulers break away and look at their daughter instead. "My dear, Darena has grown so much, she's taller than me."-

-"Well of course she is Darlena, it's been more than 16 years since we last saw her. Don't worry much though, she's pretty alike to you."- Deren tells his wife, leaving a soft kiss on her forehead. Darlena smiles and analyzes her daughter's face, which has surprise written all over it.

-"She looks a lot like Darten... what a shame that he turned against us."- She says, sadly glancing back at her husband.

-"That decision was his, not ours, and therefore we mustn't feel guilty about it. We guided him the best we could, but in the end, only he could decide whether to listen or not. Don't worry Darlena, we'll be okay."-

-"Yes, you're right about that... now, come here Darena, it has been a very long time since I was able to hold you in my arms." Darlena says, stretching her hand out to Darena, who thinks twice before taking it. Darena is brought to an embrace by her mother, who hadn't stopped smiling ever since her daughter took her hand. Tears of joy escape her eyes, because she still can't believe that her daughter is in her arms, alive and in the good side as if to say so. "I thought I was never going to see you again. When we found out what your brother had done to you, we really couldn't expect you to survive. I'm not saying Humana are bad, it's just that in the place and conditions he left you, we didn't think you'd make it. We're sorry Darena, we shouldn't have let you go."- Darena stands in her spot frozen, not knowing what to do or say, or how to say it. There isn't much that you can do after you long lost parents just come around after not seeing you for 16 years. And while this hearty family reunion takes place in The Twilight Forest, somewhere in the Dark Realm, am army is rising, and the leader is none other than Darten Matrixlyn, The Dark Lord himself, who was going to face the enemy he avoided for such a long time in The Final Battle.
