So Glad I Found You

Chapter 19

Three days had come to pass and now it was the day of retrieval . We were getting Alyssa back today .

We couldn't be  happier. Or scared. We didn't tell the police because we didn't want Alyssa to be harmed.

As I got dressed fear and nervousness came over me. I was nervous for her . I didn't want her to come back injured.

I wanted her to come back normal. Or as normal as she would ever be . We just wanted her back.

I sat on my bed for awhile just staring .  At nothing in particular but I was staring . Soon a knock on my open door brought me out of my daze.

It was Ray. He was leaning against the doorframe.

" You ready?" Ray asks

" Yea." I say

I walk out and walk with Ray to the living room to wait for everyone else. I leaned back into the couch and just closed my eyes.

" Will she be ok ?" I ask

" I don't know . Something like this can be really hard on someone. Only time will tell." Ray says

He runs his hand up and down my arm . I had to admit it calmed my racing heart just a little bit .

As soon as everyone was down in the living room it was time . Gerard had the money in a briefcase .

" Are we ready?" Gerard asks

We all nod out heads because we were too scared to speak . We were taking several cars . Frank , Mikey , Matt and Bailey in one car . Gerard , Ray , and me in the other .

We weren't really sure how this was gonna go down . Will they just take the money and then bring out Alyssa ? No one really knew.

We just had to wait until we got there. It was a long quiet drive . There was so much tension in the air . But when we got there everything seemed so surreal.

Ray helped me out of the car and I grabbed his hand out of sheer fearfulness of the whole situation . He holds my hand back and rubs his thumb over my hand.

I look at him and he looks back . We're both scared. I walk over to the railing and look out at the view. You could see all the houses and people . I wish I was down there instead of up here.

Everyone looked happy down there.

" It's beautiful ." I say

" Yea I wish we were here just to look instead under bad circumstances." Ray says

We lean against the railing and look out at the city . Soon the whole group came over . We are all looking at the city which we call home .

I start humming Welcome to the Black Parade. But suddenly Gerard starts singing . We all look over but Gerard's in his own world . Suddenly my voice had joined in too .

Then everyone's singing . It felt good to get our minds off of Alyssa's safety and focus on the words of the My Chemical Romance song .

Suddenly I'm being spun around by Frank and I start laughing my ass off . Once he was done spinning me I was dizzy. I grabbed on the railing to steady myself .

The song was almost over so I joined in on the last part and I held the notes with Gerard. Afterwards a calm came over me.

No matter how bad things get I'll always have my brothers . I walk over and give Gerard a hug. Then I do the same for Mikey . I wasn't as close to Mikey as I was with Gerard. But he's still my brother and I'm glad he's around.
