So Glad I Found You

Chapter 13

When I woke up the next morning Alyssa wasn't in bed. But I did her the shower running in the bathroom next door so I figured she was in there. I got up from the floor and stretched out.

Man flying really does make you tired. I heard the bathroom door unlock and Alyssa steps into our room with a towel on.

I grab my clothes and race into the bathroom. Once I was in there I took a long shower. When I was done I changed in there and decided to let my hair air dry.

When I walk out Gerard is standing outside the door with his clothes. I smile at him and go back to my room.

Alyssa is already dressed and she is reading a book. I sit down on the floor and go through my phone.

I was on Instagram of course. There were some things about me . There was a video of me singing with Gerard at their concert.

There was even a photo of me waking around with the guys and Alyssa . I also had so many new followers . What has my life become?

" New followers?" Alyssa asks

" Yea. How'd you know?" I ask

" Same thing happened to me when Gerard and I started dating." Alyssa says

" Oh." I say

" You are his sister . They'll take pictures of you out of context and interview you. This is your life now." Alyssa says

" I know . I think I'm ready for it." I say

" We both are ." Alyssa says

" Yea . It's different but after all he's my brother." I say

" Hi guys." Gerard says

We both look up to see him fully dressed at the doorway to our room. Alyssa motions him to come inside the room.

He sits on the bed and looks at us with a look of love on his face.

" I know there's something deeper to you relationship . Can you tell me please?" I ask

Alyssa looks at Gerard and Gerard looks at her . He nods to her and she sighs.

" When I met Gerard he was a mess. He was doing drugs but I didn't know it at the beginning . When we got together I found out and made him promise not to do them ever again . " Alyssa says

" And did he promise?" I ask

Tears start to form in her eyes and she is taking deep breaths . I sit next to her and both Gerard and I comfort her.

" One day we were at this party and he was drunk. I saw him kissing a girl , her name isn't important , and I ran out . I was so upset but so was he . The whole band came over to where I was staying to see if I would let him talk to me . I didn't let him talk to me. So he went home that night and he - he took - He took the drugs. A huge dose . He tried to kill himself." Alyssa says

Then she's breaking down . She runs out of the room and probably out of the house.

" We've never really talked about what happened ." Gerard says

" You tried to kill yourself. Why? Why did you lie to her ?" I ask angry a little at my brother

" I loved her . But I hurt her and I will always be upset about that . I didn't think there was anything left for me in this world . So I just gave up . " Gerard says

" There's always something to live for . " I say

" She was the only thing in this world keeping me together and I hurt her. I just couldn't live with myself." Gerard says
