So Glad I Found You

Chapter 20

Today's the day . Gerard is going to propose today . Well more like tonight since it was an evening show . But still there was excitement in the air.

When I got up I dressed myself in a nice summer blouse and jeans . I then brushed my black hair and put it into a braid.

When I came out of my room Gerard was in the hallway. I approach him and give him a hug.

" Today's the day." I say

" I know . Can you help me pick out something to wear?" Gerard asks

" Of course." I say

I follow Gerard into his room and I head straight for his dresser. When I opened up the drawers I found an array of colors.

So I picked out some black jeans and a nice white shirt with a black vest to go with it . I hand him the clothes and let him pick out the undergarments because I definitely did not want to see Gerard's underwear drawer.

I head out of his room and down the stairs to hang out in the living room. Everyone was coming over today. I was excited to see everyone .

Soon Alyssa came downstairs wearing leggings and a nice shirt. She always looked pretty in everything she wore.

" Good morning Ronnie." Alyssa says

" Good morning." I say

" Do you want some coffee?" Alyssa asks

" Sure." I say

I follow her into the kitchen and sit on one of the kitchen counters. I watch how delicately she makes the coffee as if it is the most precious thing on earth.

When she hands me a cup I take a sip of the strong and sweet liquid.

" How are you ?" I ask

" I'm getting by . It's not easy but everyday I'm here again I feel better." Alyssa says

" Well you seem happier." I say

" I am . I'm just glad Gerard didn't do anything stupid." Alyssa says with a laugh

" He was a mess but he didn't do anything stupid." I say

Soon Gerard comes down and walks into the kitchen with outfit I picked out for him.

" Why are you all dressed up ?" Alyssa asks

" Maybe because I want to be." Gerard says

" Ok." Alyssa says and we both start laughing

Even Gerard cracks a smile . Then he goes over to Alyssa and gives her a kiss on the forehead. Ugh they're so cute.

I take my coffee into the living room and sit out there watching tv. Soon there is a doorbell and I run to open the door.

Standing outside was Matt and Bailey. They were invited because they were Alyssa's students and my friends.

"Hey guys." I say as I immerse them into a hug

"Hey Ronnie." Bailey says

I lead them inside where Gerard and Alyssa exchange their hellos. Soon we were seated on the couch .

" So how've you guys been ?" I ask

" We've been good . How about you ?" Bailey asks

" I've never been better." I say

" That's good." Bailey says

We continue to make small talk  until the doorbell rings again. I race over and open it to find the shortest person in the world and my brother .
