So Glad I Found You

Chapter 21

A couple of weeks after Gerard and Alyssa got engaged we decided to have a fun day at the local park. I decided to dress myself in a stylish tank top , jeans , converse, and a grey fedora. Bracelets adorned my arms and I brushed my black hair until it was smooth.

Even though I knew it was just going to get messed up by the hat anyway. Once I was dressed to perfection I got together a bag of stuff.

In the bag I put in my sketchbook, colored pencils, drawing pencils, books for reading , and my phone. I think I was set to go.

I look at myself one more time in the mirror to check my appearance . Then I head downstairs and I smell chocolate from the kitchen . I race down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"You're making chocolate chip pancakes?" I ask

Alyssa turns and smiles. She nods her head and I go over to watch her make the pancakes . Gerard was in the kitchen too . He was watching Alyssa with the same fascination as I was.

How can a girl so pure and kind exist ? She had her head on the ground and was a down to earth girl .

Being the girl I am , I'm lucky she's going to be my sister-in-law.

As soon as we ate breakfast and our teeth were brushed we waited downstairs for the others to arrive. I was excited but also nervous. God I was sure they would make jokes about Ray and I .

I really want him to like me back but no matter how hard you wish some people just simply won't notice you . Maybe that's the way it was meant to be .

For some people who don't end up with the people they want end up with someone they've always dreamed about . For that is how God's mysterious reasons work .

When the doorbell rang it pulled me out of my thoughts . Soon the voices of Frank , Ray , and Mikey destroyed the silence of the living room.

" Hey Ronnie!" Frank says to me

" Hey Frankie!" I sat back

I give each of my friends and my brother a hug. Once all the hellos were exchanged we all got in our card to go to the park .

When we got here the air was peaceful and I thought of life always being this way . Despite all the trials we had overcome .

When we had found the perfect tree to eat under we set out or blankets and began to play. We ran around until we were out of breath and then we had to sit down again .

We kept on like that until noon . When we had eaten and everyone was full Ray had the brilliant idea to climb the tree.

As he was perched on the branch I took my sketchbook and began to draw him . I was very particular with this sketch and when it was done I was proud of myself. 

I tore it out and placed it under the book to give to Ray later. I climbed the tree to the branch where Ray was and sat next to him.

" Hey Ronnie ." Ray says to me as soon as I am situated on the branch

" Hey." I say

" So what were you drawing down there ?" Ray asks

" It's a surprise. I can't tell you ." I say

" Ok." Ray says while making a pouty face

" Don't you make that face at me Ray." I say

" Sorry." Ray says while blushing

" You should be." I say jokingly

We both climb down from the tree and I race over to grab my drawing. I run back over to Ray and put it in his hand.
