The next day.....

I woke up and last nights events came flooding back to my mind, did that really happen, or was it a dream.

I stretch in bed pulling the covers back making my way over to were my phone laid, I had a message off of Joe, it was sent not long after the phone call had finished.

I opened the message and gasped it was a picture

I could help but laugh, as well as feel little butterflies that danced inside me

I could help but laugh, as well as feel little butterflies that danced inside me. He was clearly very drunk, though his eyes wasn't glassed over like they normally was and he didn't physically look drunk though, I shook off the thought once again.

It was lunch time and the best time to ring Joe, to see how his head was after the events of last night, to see if he remembered anything he had said or told me but I knew he wouldn't and I was just holding on to a glimmer of hope.

I grabbed my phone out of my jeans pocket and slouched back on the sofa. I pressed the phone up against my ear listing to the ring, waiting, after a few rings I decided to give up he must still be sleeping.

20 minutes or so later my door bell rang out, I darted across the cold floor with my bare feet making my way to the door. Swinging it open to reveal a very fresh and shy Joe.

"Hey" he said shyly giving me a half hug.

"Hey" I smiled at my best friend, moving aside to allow he through the door and in to the apartment.

"Coffee?" I said as he took a seat on the sofa

"Please"

"How's the head" i laughed

"Fine" he said causing me to raise my eyebrows.

I know Joe, when he gets drunk out of his mind like he was last night, it always results in the worse hangovers ever to the point where he complains that he's is dying.

"How are you" he ask me out of the blue

"Tired thanks to someone" I laughed

"I'm sorry, that's why I came over to explain" he said softly

"Explain what!" I asked as I picked up the two coffee cups and made my way over to where he was sitting, placing the cups down on the table in front of us.

"You have nothing to explain Joe, you was drunk, very drunk, just a drunken call" I said

"But it wasn't and I wasn't" he said frustrated like he had something to say

"What do you mean" I asked confused at his words

"I wasn't that drunk, I didn't even have a hangover, heck I didn't even have a dry mouth" he said brushing his hair out of his face acting nervous and agitated.

"What I mean is....Well what I'm trying to say is....It wasn't just a drunk call" he paused for a second

"I knew what I was saying....yes I was slightly tipsy, but not out of it, I can remember everything" he sighed finally letting out a long breath.

"I don't get it what are you trying to say Joe"

"That everything I said to you last night I meant it.....I..I..I"

"You what Joe" I said as he just wouldn't spit it out.

"I...I love you Y/N I really do" he said as his cheeks turned slightly red

"I know you do Joe, we are best friends" I said

"No!...why don't you get it" he snapped

"I love you Y/N for fuck sake I'm in love with you and Iv had been for a while" he said

"Ohhh" I said taken a back

"I'm sorry" he said pushing his locks out of his face

"Joe you don't need to be sorry...." I paused, as I was not prepared to admit it, to admit that I had been in love with this idiot from the moment i laid eyes on him

"I think I love you too"

"What!" Joe gasped

"I think I love you too Joe"

"Really" he said questioning my words

"Yes"

"I'm sorry" he said again grabbing hold of my hand, but this time it felt different, not just a friendly touch something more

"What for" I asked confused

"For being a idiot and having to hide behind a few drinks to tell you that I love you instead of telling you how I really feel"

"Joe I'm just happy that you told me doesn't matter how" I told him giving him a kiss upon his cheek.

"So how about that date you promised me last night" he beamed.
