Hailey's POV:

"How did you sleep, baby?" I heard Marcus low morning voice behind me while I was making us a breakfast. "Really good" I said and pushed him a little further when he tried come too close to me and my working area. "Go sit in the table, the breakfast will be ready soon" I told him and nodded over the table.

Thankfully, I didn't have to tell that twice to him this time but he walked to sit there almost right away. I picked up the eggs and vegetables from the pan on our plates, and carried them to the table.

"Here" I said to Marcus when I put his plate in front of me. "Thank you, waiteress" he smirked and made me roll my eyes. "Thank you for reminding me that I gotta go to work today" I said my mouth full of food. "Poor you, I thought that we could have a lazy evening tonight together when I come back home but not then" Marcus commented.

"I think that you're more poor one of us" I said and made him chuckle. "Yeah, maybe" he mumbled and took a bit of his mini carrot. "Which time you come back though?" "Maybe around 9pm, it depends so many things" I told to him and made him nod.

"Okay, I'll give you then a nice massage for a pay to this amazing breakfast" he promised and made me smile. I say nothing back to him because I had no idea how I should have answered offer like that. I just think that it was a really cute act from him.

"Have a nice day, baby" Marcus wished me and kissed my cheek before he was leaving with some of his friends toward the meeting, where their class had to go today. I smiled to him and wished same back to him before it was his time to go. "See you later" I yelled still after him even I wasn't sure does he hear it anymore.

I left alone at home eating my breakfast. I didn't have to go to school today or actually until next week, because we had got a few projects to finish and we were able to do it at home. I was happy about that decision which our teachers had made because I wouldn't have too much energy to focus on resuscitation exercise or blood sampling.

I opened my laptop and started to write an essay about how I could help a kid who is having a shock. Words like flew on the screen when I kept writing and writing, until after almost 5 hours I was ready. I added my text to e-mail message which I sent to my teacher then. There was still 3 other essays to write but I decided save them for later.

I looked the clock and noticed that it was almost 1pm already. I had totally forgotten to eat my lunch between all that working, and now to be honest, it would be a little late since after a couple hours I should be going to work.

I grabbed a pear from the fruit basket and a little knife from kitchen drawer, before I walked to the living room and sat on the couch. I didn't get much time to relax or enjoy my little snack when my phone started ring.

I ran to answer and soon a familiar voice greeted me from the other side of the line. "Hey, best friend. How's it going there in the big city?" Charlotte's energy voice asked. "Good good, what about you?" I asked back while I tried finish my pear. "Nothing much, studying and dying to all those books which we should read before summer"

I could hear a disgust from her voice when she talked about school. Her parents had forced her to start read a law but we both know that she wasn't interested that at all. Charlotte had always been an artist kind of girl, not one who sit around the clock books about what's right and what's wrong way to act in the society.

But she had decided that way anyways because her parents had promised to pay her studies. If she had started study as an artist, she should have started everything herself.

For me the decision of choosing to start read as a nurse was easier because I got a pressure to be anything special from my family. I could have become a doctor, a priest, a painter... almost anything if I wanted because I was the one who paid my own studying. For my mom, I didn't get any money, not that I would have taken any if she had offered.

Our lives were so much different with Charlotte but that was maybe the reason why we became best friends one day. We completed each others weak spots. I was happy to have her in my life still even we didn't see so often anymore.

"Girl, I heard that you are coming to the town. Is it true?" Charlotte asked suddenly and I could hear how her voice was now full of atrue excitiment. "Yeah, I am. Where did you hear it?" I asked her just because I was curious. "From little birds" she giggled and made me do same.

"Yeah, right" I mumbled and checked the clock from my phone. It was almost 3pm and my work shift in near restaurant would start soon. "After about two weeks, then I will come" I told to her before I said her, I should go. "Okay, I can't wait to see you, best friend" she said and made me smile. "Me either, see you soon. Bye"

I went take a quick shower, ate a dinner and left to work. It was a rainy day today but thankfully I had a car, I thought. But the car needed gasoline, and for my bad luck there wasn't any. Marcus had forgotten to get some there seemly when he yesterday borrowed my car.

We would talk about that later with him, I thought but now I had to hurry to work. I had missed so many important minutes already. I started run. Even I was so sure that I would be late, I attend in the changing rooms of the restaurant 5 minutes earlier still.

I changed my waiter uniform, tied my hair in ponytail and fixed my little messed makeup, before I made my way to the desk. "Welcome to the Tracey's Dinner! What would you like to eat today, sir?" I asked friendly to my first customer.
