Hailey's POV:
It was barely 7am when I heard my phone ringing. I grabbed it quickly from my night stand, so it wouldn't wake up the whole house. "Hailey Dean speaking" I answered with my little sleepy voice.
"It's Eric Cobain, your house master here" a low man voice answered. All of sudden I was full of energy and I jumped up from my bed. "What's wrong? Has something happened? Has-" All kind of pictures started fill my head, starting from possible fire in our apartment to something even more terrible.
"I'm just calling after your monthly lease. I haven't got it from you yet, and I wanted just make sure if everything is alright since that isn't like you at all" our house master told. Thankfully it wasn't more than that, I thought but hurried to comment back him.
"I don't know, what's going on. I mean, I'm right now visiting at my mom's place in different city, and I told Marcus to handle that thing since I will be gone" I told him. "We didn't do that on purpose, Eric" With that, I made our house master laugh out a little.
"It's fine, Hailey. I understand, you can tell your boyfriend to pay it for me when he can" he said softly and understanding. "Thank you but I will call him like right now. I want him to handle this thing today already, and not tomorrow or day after that" I mumbled.
Eric chuckled again and said that it was my choice how I will handle that, as long as the money would appear in his hand or in his bank account during this month. I promised to make sure it happened, after we hung up.
I felt so pissed on that moment when I dialed Marcus's number in my phone. How he had forgotten that important thing to do? Was it that hard at least once to handle one little thing which was actually a big one, however because we was talking about the place where we lived. Finally I heard Marcus' sleepy voice other side of the line.
"Do you know what the time it is? 7:15 fucking am" he murmed annoyed because I had seemly woke him up with my call. "I know, and to be honest I wouldn't be calling you this time of the day if someone would have paid our lease like we promised before I left here" I groaned annoyed because I felt so tired inside too.
"What are you talking about, baby?" Marcus asked like he wouldn't have idea what I was talking about. "The lease of our apartment. We made a deal that you pay it this time since I'm here meeting my mom" I reminded him. I could hear him chuckle other side of the line.
"What's so funny on this? Can't you understand that we can get kic-" I raised my voice but got interrupted by him. "I haven't forgotten that, baby" Marcus tried convince me but I believed more likely our house master and his words than my boyfriend, who had been seemly a little out of control since I left.
"Yeah, well probably our house master had forgot that you have paid.." I answered sarcastically and couldn't stop myself to roll my eyes, how stupid he thought I was. "Yeah, probably. That guy is old as fuck, so I wouldn't wonder that all that he fo-"
"Just admit it, you forgot and we'll be fine. It's not a big deal for me to pay it but I thought that we made a deal that you handle that when I am away, right? Do you remember?" I asked but heard nothing from other side of the line for a little while. "Are you there? For fucking sake, if you closed the phone, I will-"
"I'm here, chill. Maybe I forgot to pay the lease but I will do it as soon as I can" Marcus sighed. "Why can't you go and do it right now? Don't you understand that we can get kicked out, so stop playing with this thing now" I raised my voice again and started get more frustrated on him.
"I'm busy. I'm at Patr-" "Ugh, fine. Do what fucking ever you want. I will pay the lease like always then when that little thing is seemly soooo hard to do for you. I gotta go now..." I hissed to the phone and hung up before he could say anything back or even byes.
I was on bad mood now. I felt tired but I couldn't get sleep after this kind of intensive conversation which had made my blood pressure raised to the clouds. Why he had to be like that, I thought and sighed.
I heard my phone start ringing next to me. Marcus' name was on the screen but I decided just ignore it. I pulled my blanket over my ear and pretent that only thing I heard was birds singing.
Soon the ringing stopped but started again a few minutes later.
I couldn't take it but pressed red button and set my phone in mute mode. I tried one more time caught my sleep but nothing happened. It was almost 8am.
Maybe I should go take a short jogging course around the block or something which would fresh up my mind a little. I changed my sport leggings and t-shirt on, before I made my way out
It was a cool but sunny morning and I had to go back inside the house to get my jacket. When I had it I was ready to leave finally.
"Good morning. You're early up" I heard from further the street. I turned my head over the speaker and noticed it was Justin. "Morning, yeah... I couldn't get sleep so I think that it's maybe same to just take a little jog" I told him. "Same" he admitted. "Would you like to join with me?" he asked but ever stopped walking forward.
"Sure, why not" I smiled and walked after him. It was probably a suprise for him, I could read it from his face but I didn't care to ask him about it. We'd be spending time now like we did before, wasn't that exactly that what he wanted. Get things back to normal between us.
