Chapter 8

Justin's POV:

I followed her to their backyard and wait until Hailey got the door closed before we both sat on chairs. She nodded and I took a deep breath. "To be honest, I don't know where should I start... I would like to just jump back to that night and cancel everything which happened there, especially those words which I said to you"

Hailey nodded and bit her lip. "Yeah, me too... I should have remember our date and not go to that party with Marcus" she mumbled. "You did nothing wrong, I mean... you're young and you can do whatever you want with your life, I don't-" I started but soon Hailey interrupt me.

"Do you think that you're old then? Is 26 old? Woah!" she looked me shocked and made me laugh. "No, it's not but that wasn't my point. I wanted just make you realize that you did nothing wrong on that night. I was the one who fuc-"

"No! You have also all rights to do whatever you want. We hadn't promised anything to each others, we- I don't even know was there anything more than just sex between us. We both were free to do-"

"I really liked you on that time, Hailey and to be honest I still do. My feelings haven't disappered anywhere" I confessed and looked her little sad now because she had just revealed me that I had nothing but a toy to her. "I thought that you would have felt same but I get it now. You-" She sighed and moved her hand over mine.

"Don't get me wrong, please. I really liked you too on that time but now... I'm in the relationship" she said out and made my heart stop for a minute. I knew that she was but I haven't had still time to process it completely.

"Oh, congrats of that" I tried smile her but we both probably knew that it was pointless act. We both knew that I was a little hurt now but I could take my lost like a man, like I always had done.

"But yeah... let me go back to that which I was gonna tell you" I tried get myself back over words which I had wanted to tell her. "I want just tell my deepest apologizes to you about everything I said to you on that night. I didn't mean any of that which I told you there. I- I wasn't myself at all" I started stutter and tears started come to my eyes even I didn't want it.

Hailey moved her hand over my back and caressed it. "Justin, it's okay. I forg-" "I'm not asking a forgiveness for you, Hailey. No, I don't deserve it from you" I swiped of few tears off my cheek and looked on my feet.

"I just wanted to get this pain off my chest and tell how things really are" I mumbled to her. "Yeah, I'm glad you did" Hailey answered to me.

I could still feel her little hand against my back and it calmed me down a little. After a moment, I could raise my head up and look at the girl next to me. "And I'm glad that you accepted to talk with me" I smiled to her little and she smiled back.

On that moment it felt like old times, like there hadn't been nothing between us ever. We were closer each others again even it wasn't what it used to be but we still were a step closer that.

"But you had something on your mind too, wasn't you?" I asked her but she shook her head. "It wasn't anything important" she mumbled and removed suddenly her hand behind my back. "Well, can I hear it still?" I asked her but she refused to tell. "It's nothing important"

I chuckled softly and nodded. "Let me guess then. You was about to beat my ass because you thought that I would start blame you about everything again" She stay quiet. "Was I right? Damn" I hissed but then noticed Hailey shaking her head.

"No, I wasn't. I just- never mind. Why can't we just forget it.. or hey, let's forget everything which has happened" she said quickly. "Are you saying that we should start with clean table because if you do, I will gladly accept that" I looked her and saw her nodding as yes.

"But it doesn't mean then that we should introduce ourselves each others again or something like that" Hailey giggled softly. "Oh, and when I already thought how I would impress you with my speech" I grinned and made her giggle again. "Maybe I don't want hear that" she said and stood up the chair. "Come after me"

"Do you want drink something?" Hailey asked to me when she lead me over the table which was full of food and drinks. "I remember that you loves this year ago at least when I last time saw you" she continued and handed me a bottle of my favorite beer. I laughed and nodded.

"Yup, you have good memory" I told her and opened it before I took a sip. "And you're still staying away from red meat, huh?" I asked when I followed how she took food on her plate. She nodded. "Of course, it's a lifetime long choice, you should make one too" she mumbled her mouth full of salad. "No thanks" I shook my head and sat on the swing which was right next to the food table.

Hailey sat next to me. A moment we both stay quiet. She was eating and I was looking at her. She looked as beautiful as I remember, to be honest even more beautiful. When she turned her head over me, I quickly turned my head on the other side and acted like I was following something else.

"Justin" she called finally me and I turned my head back to her. "Hmm?" I hummed asking. "It's so fun to see you after a long time" she told to me. Nobody could understand how much those words meant to me. "You too, Hailey" I answered her.

She leaned to hug me and of course I hugged her back. "And even you didn't want hear this, I will still tell it to you..." she paused for a second before she continued.

"I will forgive you, Justin" she whispered before she pulled away from the hug.
