Justin's POV:
"I heard that someone has a birthday coming later on this week" I said to Hailey when we were sitting on my backyard and drinking coffee. "Oh, who? Do I know him... or her?" she acted suprised.
"I think that you do" I chuckled and looked her. She smiled to me. "Where did you hear it?" she asked and took the last bite of her muffin. "Little birds sang about that yesterday morning when I had to go alone jogging" I mumbled and tried remind her that one more time, she forgot that we had made a deal that I'll start 'train' her.
"Oh c'mon. I got that already, and I said, I was sorry about that I forgot" she rolled her eyes and sighed. "My phone didn't wake me up..." She thought that I was serious but I wasn't. It didn't really matter was she with me or not. She was in her summer break, so she was free whatever she wanted to do.
"It was just a joke, Hails. It's fine" I calmed her down and moved my hand over hers. "But could we go back to that birthday topic again? Did you think to organize any party or anything?" I asked. She shook her head. "No, probably just some close relatives from mom's side will come visit and then some good friends of mine. Nothing more special. Why are you asking?"
"Just wondering. Will you invite me?" I smirked. "I don't know if that's a good idea" she mumbled and bit her lip. "Oh" I mumbled and looked down while I was acting sad. In real I totally got what she probably tried tell me with that.
It wasn't good idea in my opinion too but I wanted be part of that big day of hers anyways somehow.
"I don't want you to make think that I wouldn't want do that but I think that it would wake up too many gossips about us, and that's the last thing I need right now" she sighed and looked me. "I understand" I said and rub back of her hand little before I pulled it away and stood up the table.
"Do you want more coffee?" I asked but she shook her head and stood up the table too. "No, thanks. I should go. Richard promised to bring me to the mall to get a few things" she said and looked her phone. "I could have driven you there" I told her but she didn't seemly warm to that idea.
"Nah, I think that we should keep some distance each others" she said and put her phone back to her pocket. "Again?" I asked. "Oh, let me guess.. your lovely boyfriend called you, and now you feel bad?" I raised my eyebrows asking. "No" she mumbled and I could notice a little sadness in her eyes.
"Have you guys broken up?" I asked her and moved a little closer. "I didn't know. I'm sorry" Even that situation would have been a jackpot for me, I didn't still want see Hailey sad because of one boy who didn't seemly was, what she thought he was.
"No... or I don't know actually. We haven't talked for weeks..." she mumbled quietly and tried escape from having a longer conversation about that topic. "I gotta go now... Richard is waiting"
"I hope that he will call you soon" I yelled after her even I was pretty sure she wouldn't have heard it anymore.
Hailey's POV:
I put my seatbelt on and Richard pressed the gas. "So did you get those books from Mr. Bieber?" he asked me. "Uhm.. n-no" I mumbled. I had lied him and mom that I went ask Justin a few old books which he had recomment me some time, even in real he had invited me just for coffee which included much more than just coffee.
I coughed out when those thoughts of how amazing Justin had made me feel earlier, tried come back to my mind. I pushed my legs tighter together and bit my lip. I was already getting addicted on him, and that wasn't a good thing since here was anymore maybe a month left from my holiday.
"Oh, that sucks. Should we visit that new flea market and look if you could find them there. I have myself found so many g-" "I don't know would I need them really, to be honest" I hurried to say. "But thanks anyways"
We stopped on the traffic lights. Richard turned the radio on and some old rock songs filled the car. I hated rock but I didn't want mention about it to my stepdad who was seemly so hyped over that song which was playing just now.
I took my phone and opened my messages there. Nothing new, I noticed but still opened a conversation with Justin. I started write:
"Hi! Our conversation kind of got cut off but I just wanted you to know the real meaning of that when I said we should take distance...
It meant that I'd not want ruin this now when we're pretty clear. I don't want rush with anything and end on same point where we were before, because I don't know could I take another heart break anymore. I hope you understand"
I clicked send and started hope that he could read it, and understand. That was all I needed right now. Someone who could understand.
