Part 10

Its been three days and Riley hasn't left her room excepy for showering and needed bathroom breaks. Mary spends her mornings at work until Mo, who previously moved closer, gets there for her shift until five, usually shared with Riley, but Mary explained what has been going on and Mo understands. Mary gets home by one and makes a lunch for two, taking them up to Riley's room. Mary pushes the almost closed door open with her foot, both hands holding plates. "Hello miss Riley Daisy. I bring forth lunch."

Riley looks up from her drawing pad and smiles. "Well good afternoon not so evil step mother." They both lock eyes and laugh.

"I am not evil. Im the total opposite."

"Mhm. Thats not what Bella told Jace who told dad who then told me this morning."

"I call it mama's instinct." Mary hands one plate to Riley. "Chinese food i picked up on my way home. I got you brown rice, those noodles you like, egg rolls, steak on a stick, dough bites, and sesame seed chicken. And extra duck sause for your egg rolls."

"Steak terriake and lu mane." (I dont know how to spell iiiiit)

"Yeah, that stuff." She smiles and sits in the black chair, crossing her legs.

"Yeah, that stuff youre eating." Riley smiles. The first thing she eats are the dough bites covered in sugar.
