Part 15

That night John, Jace, and Bella sit at the table while Mary and Riley are in the kitchen preparing dishes. First they bring out drinks then dinner. Riley sits besides her father, Mary opposite her. John looks at the two  then down at his plate. "You both made dinner?" 

"Yup."

"We made it all. the garlic potatoes and we put the veggies in the pot of water."

John nods and starts with his chicken. He smiles when he see's the ham and cheese being wrapped in the chicken. "Chicken Cordon Bleu. Thank you." He smiles at his two main girls in life. "Wait-" He looks at Riley and takes a bite of the chicken. "You found it.." 

"You aren't very good at hiding things..." Riley comments, making everyone else at the table laugh. "What? Its true."

After laughs and yelling and finishing their dinner, Riley clears the table while Mary lights candle on his cake in the kitchen. 

Mary picks up the cake and Riley opens the door into the dining room. They start singing happy birthday, Jace and Bella join in. Mary sets down the cake while Riley gets plates, forks, knife and Mary gets his favorite ice cream. Mint chocolate chip. (Yum)

"Wow." He smiles and blows out the camdles. "Where did you get the cake?" He asks as the girls sit down.

"Your wife is a skilled unknown baker." Riley comments.

"No way." John looks at his wife. "You made this?"

"Sure did."

"I bst its great Mary." Bella smiles.

"Lets dig in." Riley hands her dad the cutting knife.

John gets the first piece cut and sits it on the first plate. "Chocolate. My favorite."

Bella makes a discussed look, when riley glares at her she looks away. Riley puts a scoop of ice cream on the plate, grabs a fork, the plate and gets up. She walks over to Bella and places it in front of her. Riley looks at her,Smiling and raising an eyebrow, placing the fork next to the plate. "Enjoy." She walks around back to her seat next to her dad. She hands the next plate to Jace, not saying a word, Mary gets her plate, and so does John.

"Do you want any Riley?"

"Only a small piece Dad. Dont want to stimulate night mares." She smiles, holding up a plate.

"Nerd." Her dad chuckles and cuts a piece for her.

"Just being cautious. Happy birthday dad." She smiles.

"Thank you." He smiles, taking a bite of the cake. "Holy fuck this tastes good." He looks surprised.

"Is it that shocking?" Mary asks.

"I didnt know you knew how to cook."
