Part 14

The next afternoon Mary arrived home to fine Riley in the dinning room looking through a small treasure chest looking box. Mary sets down her book bag and accordion folder on the table in the for-yard. "Riley?" Mary walks into the dining room. "What on earth are you doing?" 

"Well dad and I have weird birthdays, one right after the other, today being dads. He likes my grandmothers chicken cordon bleu so i'm looking in her recipe box." 

"Where did you find that? I've never seen it before." 

"He's sneaky. He hides it behind the books on the shelf. He did it when I was little too." Riley's smile gets bigger. "FOUND IT!" She pulls out an old tattered piece of paper. She pulls her phone out and types the different thing she'll need. "Wanna help me cook dinner?" She puts the old papers back in the box, carefully, placing the chicken recipe in the front. She closes the box and walks back into the living room, Mary following her. 

"Ill help." Mary smiles. "Ill give the cooks the night off." She gets her phone from her bag while Riley puts the box back behind the box. She runs to the dining room grabbing her wallet and car key. "IM DRIVING!" 

Mary laughs a little and follows Riley to her car. On the ride to the shop Mary opens up a lot. "Your father loves you alot. He said he did the business so he could get custody of you and your sister. He's worked so hard to get you both back. But your mother just didn't go to court. She wanted the checks you two got from the government. Your father w-"

"Wait.. What? There were checks for my sister?" Riley asks. 

"One on the first and one on the fifteenth. For food an medicine and machines she needed." 

"I didn't know that." 

"That's what we thought. He drove to your house.. Quite a lot. He would call me the nights he sat out side of your house. He would cry and cry. He would've taken you two from your mothers grip in a heart beat but he didn't want to screw it up and get arrested."

"I didnt know that." 

"He talks about a lot when your sleeping. Just listen."

"I will."

AT the store hey got enough to feed ten people even though there will only be five people there.

I may not upload tomorrow or friday, i will be leaving tomorrow to be with Squid for the night theeeennnn I have an interview for a job friday. But i will try to get at least one chapter out by Saturday morning maybe Friday night.
