Part 20

Riley sits by the half presentable cashier station while John and Jace put boards over the windows. Mary walks out from the dressing area and pulls an rolling rack. "What is that for?" Riley asks.

"The dresses she didnt ruin." She sighs. "Which isnt a lot."

"The cops said she's going to have to pay for all the damage if she doesnt go to jail." John states.

"And if she does go to jail?" Riley asks.

"Well it would be for trespassing, burglary, damage of property, and public intoxication."Jace adds.

"And you aren't worried abut her?" Riley asks.

"No. To be honest I think Im the reason as to why she did it." Jace puts down the drill and turns, looking at Riley.

"What do you mean?" Mary raises an eyebrow.

"I broke up with her. Said I needed some time and space to work some things out that ended badly. She automatically thought it all had to do with Riley. I didn't say anything else. She went to a bar and that's the last time i saw her." He shrugs. "I thought she went back to your place, probably drunk, and didnt know where else to go."

"Thats true. He asked if she was there this morning. But she wasn't."

"Is part of the reason you left Bella, Riley?" Mary walks up to the counter and leans on it.

"Thats not going to be shared at the moment." Jace looks at Riley.

Riley gets off the stool, looking around. "Ill help you with those dresses." She walks to the second half of the store.

Mary looks at John then at Jace. "I guess that's our cue to get back to work." She tap the counter real quick then follows Riley.

Mary walks back and finds Riley with her head in her hands. "You need a break from this?" 

"He stresses me out so badly. I love him, I really do but goddamn.." She starts to shake a bit. Mary grabs a chair and has her sit. 

"Remember what Mr.Winstin said. Deep breathes, slow exhales." Mary grabs a chair and sits in front of Riley, trying to calm her down. "Im right her. Slow calm breathes."
