Riley was discovered diseased by Lilly, but she didn't know and called Mary upstairs. John, Jake and Jace were the first to know, then the grandparents and then the kids. Riley passed away in her sleep on December 25th 2003. Her funeral was held on December 31st. Everyone showed up in all black, wearing an accent flower colored purple. Riley's favorite color.

The same day of the funeral a lawyer shows up. Gathering John, Mary, Mo, Jake, Alex, Ally, Jace, Logan, Lilly and baby Aubrey. He clears his voice. "To Lilly, You may have Mr. Snuggles and his lady friend Rose. To Logan, you can have all my video game gadgets and games. To Ally-"

"What?" She looks up from her hands, shocked.

"I would like Ally to have my make up and split the jewelry between yourself, Lilly, and Mary. To Alex, my wing-man, you can have all of my spiritual books and please keep my whicken cards safe. Mary, please keep the family together. You're a great mother and I am truly happy to have gotten to work with you. You get my half of the store sharing as long as Mo gets to go to Paris in my place. Please look after Aubrey. To Mo, go through my clothes, pick what you want. To Jace-" The man pulls a letter with 'Jace' written on the envelope and hands it to him. "To Jake and my baby girl Aubrey. Take my stuffed animals and my teddy bear throw blanket and my photos. I want Aubrey to know I tried. I have saved up some money that can be accessed when she turns 18. I checked, November 24th, by that date there was 39.5 thousand dollars. I want to help with my daughters future, even if I cant be there. What ever isn't berried with me or distributed through out you all, i want it to go to any charity of Ally and Lilly's choice. To John-" John gets up from his chair and walks out of the office, mixing in with other family and friends gathered at the home. Mary nods for the lawyer to continue. "-Thank you. For teaching me what to do right in life, for taking me in. For being the dad that gave me amazing brothers and sisters, introducing me to the love of my life-" Jack gets up and leaves the room, slamming the door behind him. "-For making me who I am today. Thank you for being such a great father." The lawyer folds the paper and hands it to Mary. "I am truly sorry for your loss." He stands from his seat.

"Thank you for coming. I'll show you to the door." Mary moves Lilly off her lap and walks the Lawyer to the front door. "Thank you for your help." After he leaves she walks up to the third floor and finds Jace sitting on the floor, opposite Rileys room. "Where's John?" She asks. Jacejust points to Rileys room as he opens the letter. Mary walks in and finds her husband in the chair with his blanket, feet up on the bed resting. She kneels on the floor next to the chair and holds her husband's hand. "We'll make it through this."

"We always do." He looks away from the bed to his wife. "She's gone huh?"

Mary's eyes start to water and she sniffles, shaking her head no. "She will never leave our hearts. She's too infectious to not be here with us. She's probably groaning or rolling her eyes at us right now." Mary earns a stiffled laugh from her husband.

"Sounds about right actually." John helps Mary off the floor and she sits on his lap, hugging him. "We should lock up the room after Jake gets the stuff for Aubrey."

"We will. Don't worry."

Jace looks away from the room down to the envelope. He turns it over in his hands before opening it. He unfolds two pieces of paper. He studies the hand drawn picture before looking at the second paper. "Thank you for showing me true love and what it feels like." He looks back at the drawn photo and rests his head against the wall.

The End.

The picture is a reference to the hand drawn one. Thank you so much for reading. Sorry about the sad ending.
