I stare out the window as my home gets smaller and smaller. I feel like I could cry. "Come on Linds." My brother Braden says. "This won't be that bad. We've moved before."
"I know." I sigh. "That was before I was old enough to make friends."
"Don't you worry honey." My mom says. "You will make new friends."
"It's not that." I say. "I will really miss my team."
"You were there best player." Dad says. "You've got to work on your behind the back move though. You literally threw the ball to that Madelyn Holverstein girl last week!"
"Not now Dave." My mom whispers.
I plug in my headphones and stick the earbuds in my ear canal. Usually I listen to dads advise on basketball, after all, he was a college women's assistant coach at Notre Dame for three years. Now's not the time. Hopefully our new house will be cool. Hopefully I will find a new team. We can always have hope.
