The figure is still behind me. I take off running, once again, ignoring the pain. The figure, a man I have decided, starts to run as well. Due to the pain in my knees, the man gains on me. His breathing is able to be heard now. Suddenly, a heavy body is thrown on top of me. I try to scream. My vision blurs. I pray a silent prayer.

Dear God,

Please save me. I don't want to die. I am too young. But if it is your will, let me die a quick, pain free death. Please.

Amen

I frantically kick my legs and flail my arms. Hurry Braden! I think.

My vision blurs even more. Above me I can kind of make out two figures. A short, stocky man, and a tall, bulky African-American man. I can't tell what is happening. My head hurts. I black out.

I wake up on a small, white hammock. I am in a small, candle lit room. Quiet music plays. I know this song! My iPod. That's where the music is coming from. My headphones are still in my ears. I pull them out, and my head throbs in pain. Suddenly, it all comes back to me.

I quickly reach for my phone. Crap, it has four percent battery. I call Braden, he doesn't answer. I try again. And again. Two percent. I keep trying. I text him. One percent. Still, I try to contact him. Now I have no signal. My phone dies.

My eyes fill with tears. Don't cry now Lindsey. Think. You're smart. You're tough. You can do this. I get up from the creaky hammock. I pace around the room. Where's Larry?

A tall, heavy set African-American man walks into the tiny room. "Braden's here for you." His voice is deep.

"How do you know Braden and why did you save me?" I question.

"I'll let Braden tell you that." He chuckles. "She looks so much like her." He mumbles to himself.

"Uhhh... Thanks for everything. I am going to leave now."

"No problem Linds." He smiles. "Never come running here again. This is a dangerous area."

"I won't." I smile too. "Bye!"

I step outside and nearly trip over something. The man. I gasp. He lays unconscious. His eyes are open and his mouth too. I cover my mouth to keep from screaming. I see a parked car. Braden's. Thank goodness. I climb in.

"Lindsey." He sighs. "Don't ever come here again. You got lucky."

"I won't. Can you explain how that guy knew me."

Braden sighs. "We had an older sister. She would be... ummm... 20 now. Her and her friend were killed by a drunk driver. His brother was the drunk driver." I gasp. "He died in the accident too. That man that saved you, he attended the funeral for Ally, our sister. We became friends. He is very sorry about Ally, and still feels guilty about it."

"It's not his fault though."

"No, it's not. Lets go home. I'll tell you more later"
