They smile back at me. "Hey." Allie says.
"Hey." I say.
"Long time no see!" Liz says.
"So... what's up?" Kiaya asks.
"Uh... I broke my nose and have a concussion." I say.
"What?" Allie demands. "How?" Her mom pulls out of the drive way and waves. She probably has to settle into their hotel room rather than come inside and see my mom. She'll probably do that later.

"Yeah. I am just thinking."
"As always."
"Holy cow!" Liz cries.
"Cows aren't holy. How many times do I have to discuss this with you?" Kiaya teases with a monotone voice.
"They have a huge pool!" Liz continues. "Can we swim?"
"Uh. I'll ask Alex."
I hoist myself over the large deck's railing. I leap down without hesitation, I have done this a million times before. I fall about fifteen feet and begin running the second my feet hit the ground. Turning back, I see my best friends smiling at me before I disappear behind the shrubs. Suddenly I smack into a tall skinny figure.
