“Yeah,” I murmur and walk to the passenger side. Wow, i forgot how
He takes my hand and laces his fingers through mine as he starts the car pulls out of the car park.
“I’ve missed you lots,” he admits.
“same,” I murmur squeezing his hand. To which he returns smiling.
We arrive at his house and I'm surprised, it’s the same house he had before.
“how did you get the house back?” I asked.
“we never sold it, just letting people rent it out, they were moving out at the time so we were lucky enough to get it back.” He grins at me and gets out. I get out too and admire the front of the house, nothing had changed.
“come on,” he takes my hand again and drags me up the drive to the big house.
“Sage hunny? Is that you? Who have you brought home?” his mum rushes through and her face lights up when she sees me.
“Callie!” she exclaims and pulls me into a big bear hug. We got on well, me and his mum, she even offered to take me with them when they moved, of course my mum refused, they were both good friends to each other and they too, were sad to leave each other.
“Hey Lana,” My voice muffled by her arms around me. She let me call her by her first name.
“how are you sweetie? I’ve missed you so much, espically Sage, I’ve never seen him so-“
“mum,” Sage cut her off immediately and gave her a warning look. She looks down to the me and gives me a sad look.
“sorry,” she hugs me again.
“come on, lets go upstairs, nothings changed,” he reminded me when Lana let me go.
“are you staying for dinner?” Lana asked.
I looked up, “if you don’t mind,”
“of course not! I'm doing pizzia tonight,”
Lana was known for her cooking talents and making everything from scratch. She worked as a chef at a famous restaurant
“so where do you work now Lana?” I asked.
She looks up surprised at my interest, “I don’t know Callie, I’ve been searching for work but their not offering anything, my old manager can’t have me back, he can’t afford it but he promised that he would recommend me to others so I’m just waiting for offers,” she gives a small smile.
“ah, I hope you get an offer, your amazing at cooking, don’t ever give up.” I say, surprising myself.
She nods, looking surprised still, “thank Cal, that means a lot,”
I nodded back and let Sage take me up the stairs to his bedroom, hes right, it hasn’t changed, in fact its hard to believe he even moved any of his stuff.
“are sure you moved?” I teased sitting on his bed.
He grimaced, “I'm sure,” he sat next to me and grabbed my hand studying it.
“I cant tell you how much I missed you,” he murmured quietly pulling me against him, I leaned into his embrace lying my head by the crook of his neck.
“I…you know I didn’t believe you till a week later?” I sigh, letting my breath out against his neck, he shivers leaning his head down pressing his lips against my head, “I thought you were playing some stupid joke,”
“how could you even think that of me?!” he asked sounding horrified.
“hell, I don’t know Sage, I was in shock, I didn’t know what to think, we got so, so close over summer,” I mutter.
