"That was so funny!" Tori burst out.
"No it wasnt!" I exclaimed.
She rolled her eyes and laughed.
I loved Tori, in a sisterly love. She was practically my sister. We had our ups and downs but we always moved past them and grew closer. She was like my role model in some ways; I looked up to her so much, the way she would dress, the way she talked, the way she would act.
Some people did mistake us for sisters, the way we would towards each other. Lots of people found it funny as we were so different. I loved reading, I had bad fashion sense, and I was quiet and calm and only got angry on rare occasions.
Tori was the opposite, she would gossip for hours, she dressed so fashionably that lots of girls from our school were jealous, she was loud and bubbly, and loved being center of attention.
"How can you be so calm around him?" I asked her, meaning Cole, every part of my body was like it was sparking when I saw him, it sounded really strange but he really did make me feel like that, and to be honest it was a little creepy. He hardly knew me. Hell, I hardly knew him...
Heck, Cole knew no one, he only knew Tori because she had a twin brother, who was the head person in the football team. Hunter. He was hot too but I swore to Tori I would never crush on him, personally I knew I didn't need to promise, crushing on him just felt wrong. Hunter, Tori's brother, was Cole's best friend. I avoided going to Tori's house at all costs because Cole was known for going to their house a lot.
Tori gave me strange look.
"I feel like I'm about to explode when I'm near him," I explained.
We were having lunch break, on the schools field, lying on a blanket that Tori kept in her lockers for warm days like this.
When it got really hot like this, we would go onto the field and sun bathe. Gossiping about the morning earlier. All the boys would whistle when they saw us, and we had several occasions when they would come up to us.
Apparently from hunter, the boys seemed more 'enthusiastic' when we would come to the field when they played football.
"You're crazy," Tori confirmed giggling.
"Not the first time I've been told that," I muttered.
She patted my arm. We were lying on our backs and had our sun glasses on.
We laid in silence for a bit, the sun was hot on my face so I sat up and grabbed some sun lotion. I rubbed it in properly, not letting any smudges show. I put some on my finger and dabbed it on Tori's nose gigging as she squealed and sat up.
She brushed of the cream and looked at it disgustingly. Then she looked at me with a mischievous grin.
Oh no...
I jumped up as she did and ran.
As I went, I noticed I had the bottle in my hand, realising she should be the one running I spun around grinning back at her shaking the bottle a little; she glanced from me to the bottle then back at me.
"You wouldn't?" she made it sound like a question than a threat.
"Try me!" I leapt to her and she squealed again turning around and running towards the blanket.
I was good at running, I ran cross country in the P.E team so I could catch her easier but I let her go only jogging behind her.
She spun around when she got on the mat out of breath. Really? It had only been a little run, she needed to get fit! She was very skinny and could fit into the smallest size with barely any muscle. I was curvy in all the right places and had a firm stomach from the running I did.
She sighed, almost panting and put up a hand in front of her, "I don't do running, you win, I surrender," she almost collapsed on the floor. I rolled my eyes but walked over to the mat.
"You need to get fit, you know you could come-"
"running with you, I know, but no offence, Cal, I'm just not that type of girl,' she gives me a small smile looking up and slipping off her sun shades as she looks me up and down from where I was standing.
"You don't know how much I would kill for a body like yours," she sighed dramatically again.
I laughed, "You need to eat more silly,"
It was true, she hardly ever ate, and not just to make a show or fuss, she just couldn't take in a lot, she told me before, and she knew people thought she wouldn't eat a lot just to get attention but she just couldn't take it in. she would get full so easily, where areas I could eat all I want, but I would have lose it which is one of the reasons I ran every day, sometimes in the morning or in the afternoon, it didn't matter when but running became a hobby for me, It was somewhere I could let all my emotions and feelings out.
Tori rolled her eyes out at me, grinning, "I wish,"
The bell went, signalling for end of lunch, I was dreading this lesson, Cole was in it.
Tori laughed at my face knowing, "you'll be fine!"
"Knowing my luck, no, I won't," I sighed and grabbed my bag as Tori folded up the blanket and placed it in her too-big handbag as the sun settled behind the clouds.
"Good luck!" she said with fake enthusiasm.
"Thanks," I mumbled and we set off to our different lessons.
