“I'm having Tori round tomorrow,” I told Sage sternly. He gave me an innocent puppy look and I rolled my eyes at him. “I'm serious!”
He grinned, “I know, I'm just playing with you,”
We were currently lying down side by side, only our hands were linked, outside in my garden on a blanket. It was Saturday evening and the sky was turning an orangey colour.
“so, how did you and tori meet?” He asked glancing over at me, I looked over at him at the same time. He looked genuinely interested.
“well, I was upset about you I guess, and she found me in the toilets crying my eyes out.” I swallowed and glanced back up at the sky, knowing he would get the same guilty look whenever I mentioned his leaving. “so she stuck by me and never asked about it, probably sensing it was private and I never told her in the end...about us I mean....we just, I guess, became friends instantly,” I couldn’t really say much of a story, mine and Tori’s friendship was fairly basic.
“huh,”
“did you make any friends where you were?” I asked hesitantly. Did I want to know this?
He didn’t answer for a bit.
After so much time that I thought he wasn’t going to answer, he suddenly leaned over me and kissed my lips gently. I was startled at the sudden affection so I didn’t kiss back. When he leant back he gazed into my eyes. It was like he was trying to find something.
“don’t freak out ok?” he mumbled leaning back eventually. That boy weighs a ton!
“what are you talking about?” I asked watching him as he changed position. Instead, he sat with his legs stretched out, he leant back on his elbows and looked up at the sky. He looked like a freaking model.
“I went out with a lot of girls there, like I told you before. But only because they were willing. I never went after a girl, they came up to me.” he said forcefully.
I nodded silently, wondering where he was going with this.
“I...there was this one girl. She was a player too. But like, she was way more skilled than me. she went after old boys...like types that were in their 30’s,” he shook his head dully, chuckling to himself. “I had to give her credit, she was good. And very attractive. Even walking down a street, she catched every guys attention.”
“Sage? Where are you going with this?” I asked growing worried. Did he go out with this girl? Did he get played by this girl? What?!
“She heard of my growing popularity about being a player and decided to come up to me. she said, I looked pretty decent, for an American boy. I asked her what did she mean by that, and she was like, well, all americans are fat aren’t they?” he smiled at the memory. I was lost. Where was he going with this?
“we got on, and she decided we should hang out, like as mates, I was curious to what she would do so I agreed. I mean, its not every day a hot player girl asks to go on a date as friends. So, I met her and-“
“Sage!” I interrupted. “I don’t want to hear this! Where are you going with this? If it’s a story about you suddenly becoming best friends with her as well as me then good for you, but I would rather not know.” I sat up feeling suddenly annoyed.
He stared at me with shock. “Callie...”
“no, don’t.”
“you asked-..”
“Yes, about friends, not romantic buddies,” I snapped, I stood up.
His face turned from anxious to a guarded look. “well, I didn’t mean to get you this angry!”
