2 Years ago, Sage Bennet had a status as the biggest player known in school, even worse than Cole. Who now took on that role. Sage succumbed every girl he planted eyes on, when it came to me though, he was surprised about my defiance to him. He asked me out on a date and after decided that I wouldn’t be that kind of girl material, he admitted  he found me like his sister, and suggested we be friends instead, I was immediately relieved and accepted his ‘proposal’. Everyone was shocked at the sudden change, especially as he kept going out with other girls, I wasn’t even bothered, but a lot of girls became jealous of me and tried to be a bitch to me, of course he dropped them immediately saying I was much more important. Over that summer we became very close, so much that people thought we were dating, we would casually hold hands, kiss each other on the cheek, he even came over mine for sleepovers and slept in my bed cuddling with me.

Suddenly though, 2 months after we were back to school, Sages dad got a job offer over in Italy, which was too good to resist and they moved away. We lost contact and I hadn’t seen him since. So when I saw Sage just now, I was shocked. Very. Shocked.

“SAGE!” I screamed causing a lot of heads to turn. I jumped at him and he catched me grinning like a clown hugging me very close.

“oh god, I’ve missed you Cal,” he murmured into my hair.

We stayed like that before someone cleared their throat, reluctantly I pulled away but he kept his grip on me keeping me close.

Tori was looking at me surprised. She didn’t know Sage as she had moved into the town 5 months after he had gone.

Aiden was speechless. He knew how much Sage had meant to me, and while he was gone and Tori wasn’t there, Aiden had kept me company threw the months trying to cheer me up.

“what are you doing here?!” I exclaimed. I looked over at him and was shocked. He had changed lots, he had a deeper tan, with dark rich brown hair that any girl would love to pull their hands through. His eyes seemed impossibly bright and his smile was dazzlingly. He was 10x more gorgeous than before. He seemed to be taking me in too because his expression became different, almost hungry.

“My dad…he lost his position in his job and my mum decided to move back here, they were offering his old job back so he took it.” He moved some tendrils of my hair out of my face and kissed my forehead breathing me in. “wow, you’ve changed,”

“likewise,” I murmured leaning into his embrace.

“man, you left me a wreck when you left,” Aiden muttered. Sage lifted his head in Aidens direction still not letting me go.

“what are you talking about?” he asked frowning suddenly. The expression was good on him.

“Her,” Aiden pointed at me.

“her has a name,” I muttered knowing what he was talking about though and feeling embarrassed.

“what do you mean?” Sage seemed still confused glancing down at my pink face. His gaze softened.

“she was a complete wreck,” he said slowely, “I mean, a lot of girls were upset when you moved away but her, well, I'm not even going there,”

Sage raised his eyebrows at me but I snuggled closer to him refusing to meet his gaze. He tightened his grip on me. “what happened?” he whispered. I wasn’t sure who he was talking to.

“she was…man, she was upset, I had to pick up the pieces though, you left her devastated, she cried for ages in my arms, good thing I'm gay though,” he joked, I didn’t smile. My face emptied at the thought back then.

Sage pulled back to look at my face. He looked upset too. “oh, dear god, I'm so sorry Cal, you should have seen me, my parents went crazy, they didn’t even know what was wrong with me, they thought I went into depression.” He closed his eyes and pulled me close again.
