„I. Can't. Open. The. Stupid. LOCK!", Taylor yelled angryly and smashed her palm agains the cold metal of the locker, regretting it almost immediately as the pain started to appear, causing her to scrunch her nose. „Fuck.", she whispered quietly and observed the now reddish coloured skin.
„Wait let me try, what is the combination again?", Cara next to her asked, handed her opposite the books she was holding for her and put her finger onto the black wheel, that you were supposed to turn in a specific manner, Taylor wasn't quite able to get right.
The blonde looked at the paper in her hand again, that she had now placed onto the tray of books in her slender hands, reading the written numbers out loud.„17, 27, 37."
With a swift motion Cara turned the wheel, first left two times, then right and then left again, while doing so she simultaneously spoke her actions out loud in an attempt to explain the new girl how to do it, who did her best to suck in the new information, that, as she knew, would be fairly important for her future on this school.
Taylor hated that she had to go to a new school. When her parents had announced that they had to move to another city, Taylor had wanted to curl up in a ball in her bed and just ignore the outer life. She didn't think that she had ever shed as much tears as she had at her last day in Nashville which used to be the city of her dreams. Yes it was a fun day, being surrounded by all of her friends, laughing their heads off. But in between laughing their heads off, they all remembered why they had met up: to say goodbye. For a really long time.
Yes, she would be visiting them again during the breaks. But until then was a long time. A long time that they would spend separated, on different ways. They would change, Taylor had been anxiously aware of that. There was no denying, people always changed. Things wouldn't go back to normal, just because she would be back for a few weeks. There would be so much she had to catch up on. So many rumors to hear, so many experiences she had missed.
Leaving her old friends and town behind, just to be surrounded by strangers again, who she had to win over first was not really something she had been looking forward to ever since she knew that it would be coming. Especially considering, that she wasn't much of an expert when it came to social interactions. Getting Cara assigned to introduce her to the school was definitely something Taylor considered to fall under the category of luck. The british girl was not only definitely someone Taylor would like to be friends with, but also extremely extroverted and made it an easy to have a conversation with. She was talking non-stop, avoiding any awkward pauses or other uncomfortable situations to occur and had made the other girl laugh multiple times and every now and then even had given hints that Taylor wouldn't have to eat lunch alone today.
It was a typical movie scenario and every other day Taylor would have highly doubted, that things like this would actually happen in reality. Being the new girl was a lot of work and a lot of loneliness, especially for someone like Taylor, who was not necessary shy, but definitely not one of the person that could walk up to people and suddenly start a decent conversation with them. Unlike Cara, who already seemed to have forgotten that the two met only a few hours again and weren't lifelong friends.
„Okay, got it.", Cara finally said and pushed the metal lever down, opening up the door with a loud noise. Revealed got the slightly dusty inside of a schools locker, waiting for someone to place their stuff inside and eventually even stick some pictures onto its blue painted walls. Nothing special, but what do you expect?
With a motion, not as elegant as she had originally anticipated, Taylor threw her books into her locker, which she had received earlier this morning by a teacher she had already forgotten the name of. He had seemed like he was in a rush, handing the blonde her books as fast as he could, not even bothering trying to start a conversation. Except you counted the question for her name and her timetable so that he could give her the books she needed. It hasn't been the nicest start exactly, but considering that Taylor was now getting a tour by no one else than Cara, you could definitely say, that the day had improved as it went on.
